The view is the only positive thing I can say about this posada. The WiFi connection was also at a reliable speed.
Unfortunately we found it uninhabitable and were forced to find another place to stay. The main issue is the vicious mosquito problem, we would have had to hide in the bed under the mosquito net the whole time - and the net had holes in several places. It was impossible to enjoy the hammock and the view while getting eaten alive and having to re-spray repellent every few minutes. The toilet is a portopotty style hole in the ground and men are asked to use a urinal that is a literal container of rocks. If you have any mobility issues the entrance is such a steep climb it would be inaccessible. For what this actually is, it is far overpriced. If you want to glamp and aren’t allergic to mosquitoes it can work.

- there was construction work in front of the room. of course the owner can't do anything about it but at least they could have informed me about it
- there was plastic trash under the bed when I arrived. (this is the first thing I check when I arrived at a new place)
- the second door lock was broken and nobody told me about it. when I asked, the person only said "I'm sorry" and didn't even sa if it was going to be replaced.
- the owner was never at the place. so when I had a question about how to get to a certain place, I asked per Booking message and the person answering told me to read their book and wasn't helpful at all!

The Posada La Sabila has everything you need. Unpretentious, beautiful, all the essentials at a super fair price. The view and closeness to the beach as well as bars and restaurants is unbeatable. There is no reception, but the hosts were quick to respond and seemed very helpful in case we should’ve needed anything. We very much appreciated that it’s an eco hotel, especially in a place with such beautiful nature, however this means an eco toilet (which is fairly easy to use and much better than you first imagine when you think of an eco toilet. Worked great, even for a couple of city peeps).
There was also a booklet with very helpful tips for food, drinks, sights and some insights to help guide visitors around the environment!
Thanks so much, we will be back!

Gorgeous view - the main pull
Nice to have a kitchen
Very close to the beach
Hammock
Big gallon of drinking water provided for free
Nice body soap
Gorgeous view from the shower looking out into nature :)
The safe didnt have batteries on arrival which the staff promptly sorted out when I messaged them - however it still didn’t work after putting batteries in after I followed the instructions to set the code and seemed a bit faulty as the low battery sign was flashing. I decided to not raise it further with the staff as I was worried that my valuables might get locked in there without me being able to open it again.
I didn’t have any issues with safety whilst there but it did feel a bit exposed especially at night, as there aren’t any staff present overnight - there was no proper lock to the bungalow bedroom- only the lower area, but as the bathroom was on this floor I didn’t keep it locked at night. Also the access to the pousada from both streets was easily accessible by anyone, so theoretically anyone could have walked from the street into my bedroom (although the property does have video surveillance).
Having the bathroom on the lower floor was a bit annoying at night. I totally understand the rationale for having a compost toilet, so didn’t mind too much using it, but it did smell and as there was a gap in the bathroom exposed to outside, which was below the bedroom, the smell did waft upwards at times.
It was extremely hot and humid whilst I was there (I think it was a heatwave) - there was a fan upstairs and downstairs but often it didn’t feel like enough. It’s not the kind of place that could have AC as the bungalow structure is open to the elements.
The bungalow did look like it had been cleaned, but perhaps not super recently - things were quite dusty, there were lots of dead insects on the floor, the debris in the bed - again totally get that the bungalow is exposed to the elements so there is going to be more insects than usual! But it seemed like maybe it hadn’t been cleaned super recently.

We loved staying at La Sabila. The location is amazing, the view from the room of the ocean and the sunrise was really beautiful. The place was quiet and so relaxing. If the music was loud at a nearby bar or restaurant you could definitely hear it, since the whole space is open, but it really wasn't too disturbing and just part of the atmosphere.
It was exactly what we were looking for and I will definitely be back!

Amazing sunrise from the room! Could watch it lying in bed. Nice spot to relax during the day and watch the surf. Relaxing place to read a book in the hammock.
The toilet smelt very bad the entire time, no aircon, tones of mosquitoes, and it was very very hot. Also very loud till 11pm every night.

Very nice, simple rooms with great location and view. Helpful staff.
No miskito nets over the beds ( moskito nets in windows and doors not sufficient).
We are not big fans of eco toilets.

I enjoyed my stay at Posada La Sabila a lot ! The location was great, very close to the beach, on Rinconcito street but not to exposed to the noise (which finishes at 11pm anyway so totally fine). The view from my room and bed was phenomenal, I got to see the beautiful pink sunrises every morning. Really recommend it + some other rooms from la Posada that I got to visit seem fantastic as well.
A mini mini detail : the hammock was not comfortable but this is nothing (I still spent a lot of time in it) and very easy to fix.

kitchen, was really good issue unexpected
Electrical energy was gone, that was very bad for us. it generated uncomfortable, unsecure, unhappiness feelings,
I had to perform some adjustments and meet all the two families together. We felt very unsecure. Please add another kind of lcok to the door at las palmas, because, we felt vulnerable. Or better , install solar panels to provide redundnace protectionto electrical

Great location right in the center of town, but far enough away from the noise to relax. the room was clean and the bed was comfy and the view from the patio was beautiful. it was also great to have a fridge and a composting toilet.
My room didn’t include a lock box, which was in the original room description. although the property felt quite safe, it would have been nice to have access to a lock box for added security.

Very comfortable, spacious room with a great sea view. You can hear the waves crashing on the shore at night and are woken up by the sun rising over the Pacific. The room was equipped with a small fridge, which was a nice surprise for us. The staff was also very friendly! Upon request, we were able to get some crockery and cutlery to prepare our own snacks in the room. Look no further! This is it!
Because of the open design, the music from the bars on the street can be heard in the room, but normally the bars close around 11 pm. For us, this was not a big problem.

Location
Lack of safety on the premises: no handrails,
Stairs unprotected; rooms uncomfortable

The location is good, close to the beach. But it's a very steap stair / climb to reach the bungalows. The views are nice. The rooms are fine but don't expect luxury.
The climb to reach the bungalows and the lack of airco.

Open air, hammock with sea view, and the sound of the waves crashing when there wasn't thumping bar music from the bars below.
Not the fault of the hotel, but the amazingly serene vista was almost ruined by the noise of the bars playing loud music below at night. Fortunately it seemed to end about midnight, but if you expect a pure natural vibe, you might be disappointed.

It's tucked up a short path from the beach and has a great view
Sometimes dogs bark at night and the sound travels

The view is amazing. You are soo close to nature , you can hear and see very close many birds or little creature of forest. Some cats and dogs as well. We appreciate the eco approach of the place , dry toilets, recycling and water dispenser. The location is literally 3 minutes from the beach and we had an amazing time there. The host was very responsive and helpfull whenever we asked.
There are mosquitos in evenings and mornings...you are only safe in the bed :) but not all repellents we working for us. In the evening the light on brings lots of insects to the room...it may better to actually don't keep it on at all.
