Cannot recommend, had to leave and find another place
The view is the only positive thing I can say about this posada. The WiFi connection was also at a reliable speed.
Unfortunately we found it uninhabitable and were forced to find another place to stay. The main issue is the vicious mosquito problem, we would have had to hide in the bed under the mosquito net the whole time - and the net had holes in several places. It was impossible to enjoy the hammock and the view while getting eaten alive and having to re-spray repellent every few minutes. The toilet is a portopotty style hole in the ground and men are asked to use a urinal that is a literal container of rocks. If you have any mobility issues the entrance is such a steep climb it would be inaccessible. For what this actually is, it is far overpriced. If you want to glamp and aren’t allergic to mosquitoes it can work.

Great place to call home for a week in Mazunte!
The experience of reading in the hammock overlooking the ocean was amazing. The room was also conveniently located to the beach and lots of other restaurants.
The bed was a bit hard.

overpriced with bad service

- there was construction work in front of the room. of course the owner can't do anything about it but at least they could have informed me about it - there was plastic trash under the bed when I arrived. (this is the first thing I check when I arrived at a new place) - the second door lock was broken and nobody told me about it. when I asked, the person only said "I'm sorry" and didn't even sa if it was going to be replaced. - the owner was never at the place. so when I had a question about how to get to a certain place, I asked per Booking message and the person answering told me to read their book and wasn't helpful at all!

Great location, sweeping vistas, right on the beach and great value for price
The Posada La Sabila has everything you need. Unpretentious, beautiful, all the essentials at a super fair price. The view and closeness to the beach as well as bars and restaurants is unbeatable. There is no reception, but the hosts were quick to respond and seemed very helpful in case we should’ve needed anything. We very much appreciated that it’s an eco hotel, especially in a place with such beautiful nature, however this means an eco toilet (which is fairly easy to use and much better than you first imagine when you think of an eco toilet. Worked great, even for a couple of city peeps). There was also a booklet with very helpful tips for food, drinks, sights and some insights to help guide visitors around the environment! Thanks so much, we will be back!

Cute bungalow with gorgeous sea views, tranquil, be aware there is no AC and it can be very hot! Must be ok with being a
Gorgeous view - the main pull Nice to have a kitchen Very close to the beach Hammock Big gallon of drinking water provided for free Nice body soap Gorgeous view from the shower looking out into nature :)
The safe didnt have batteries on arrival which the staff promptly sorted out when I messaged them - however it still didn’t work after putting batteries in after I followed the instructions to set the code and seemed a bit faulty as the low battery sign was flashing. I decided to not raise it further with the staff as I was worried that my valuables might get locked in there without me being able to open it again. I didn’t have any issues with safety whilst there but it did feel a bit exposed especially at night, as there aren’t any staff present overnight - there was no proper lock to the bungalow bedroom- only the lower area, but as the bathroom was on this floor I didn’t keep it locked at night. Also the access to the pousada from both streets was easily accessible by anyone, so theoretically anyone could have walked from the street into my bedroom (although the property does have video surveillance). Having the bathroom on the lower floor was a bit annoying at night. I totally understand the rationale for having a compost toilet, so didn’t mind too much using it, but it did smell and as there was a gap in the bathroom exposed to outside, which was below the bedroom, the smell did waft upwards at times. It was extremely hot and humid whilst I was there (I think it was a heatwave) - there was a fan upstairs and downstairs but often it didn’t feel like enough. It’s not the kind of place that could have AC as the bungalow structure is open to the elements. The bungalow did look like it had been cleaned, but perhaps not super recently - things were quite dusty, there were lots of dead insects on the floor, the debris in the bed - again totally get that the bungalow is exposed to the elements so there is going to be more insects than usual! But it seemed like maybe it hadn’t been cleaned super recently.

So beautiful and so relaxing. A dream.
We loved staying at La Sabila. The location is amazing, the view from the room of the ocean and the sunrise was really beautiful. The place was quiet and so relaxing. If the music was loud at a nearby bar or restaurant you could definitely hear it, since the whole space is open, but it really wasn't too disturbing and just part of the atmosphere. It was exactly what we were looking for and I will definitely be back!
