When we arrived at the cottage very close to Volcano National Park, we were blown away! The place far exceeded my expectations. We have stayed in many Airbnb’s over the last few years and this place was extremely clean, well stocked, and in tiptop shape. The surrounding gardens were unbelievable! The thought, detail, and hospitality, extended to my husband, and I went above and beyond. I strongly recommend staying at this cottage if given the chance! Aloha!

Gigi’s cottage is the perfect spot for a couple to stay near the volcano. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful rainforest and manicured gardens with fun trails. The cottage itself is immaculately decorated and maintained. Clearly Gigi is an artist and her delight to the senses. Details and beauty that makes you smile are in abundance. I will return.

Lovely, very comfortable, very clean, private cottage with beautiful plant-life and garden. Communication was excellent. It's a nice place to stay in a very quiet, off-the-beaten-path part of the big island.

Gigi and Marc have crafted a wonderful cottage with so much personality. No detail forgotten to create a warm, personal environment to relax in. The gated location provided a sense of security, and the beautiful grounds were so nice to wake up to. All in all a wonderful place to stay on The Big Island. Just one thing to note, most local restaurants close early, or are only open some days of the week or for some hours in the morning, so plan accordingly. It is also a pretty good distance away from most tourist attractions on the island, but is soooo close to, that it’s almost inside Hawaii Volcanos National Park, which is both amazing to visit and enormous in size, a great reason to stay in Gigis place is to spend time in this incredible park, and still feel like you have a home to come back to.

This was a great location for our days hiking in Volcanoes National Park, just minutes from the entrance. The environs were beautiful; we’ve never seen so many colors of anthurium! Gigi was a great host very communicative and responsive. And the welcome cookies were SO delicious. A great place to stay.

The Maluhia house is a beauty in a wonderful botanic garden made with love. Every detail is so well designed and thought through, and one is also completely away from the crowds that might be in the very close Volcano national park. We had a super stay which was made perfect by an eruption of Kilauea and a drive for sun down to Mauna Kea (4wheel needed), both breathtaking. We want to come back and thanks for such a nice house that was equipped with just everything one might need and thanks for the wonderful welcome cookies!

Great location if your visiting Volcano National Park. GiGis Cottage was very peaceful and Beautiful. With all the comforts of home with a beautiful garden that surrounds the cottage. Everything was very clean and organized. There was even some homemade cookies that were delicious upon arrival. I wouldn't think twice to stay again. Thank you for sharing this wonderful space.

Gig's property was both beautiful and immaculate. It's tricky on the wet side of Hawaii to find places to stay that are clean and comfortable....and Gigi's home was impeccable, beautifully appointed, quiet, comfortable and she baked the most delicious cookies as a "Welcome" for us. It's just a few minutes drive to Volcano National Park and one of the best VRBO stays I've ever had. We would definitely recommend, and I would definitely return!

This stay was such a magical experience for my partner and I. We have experience at many places all over and this one exceeded all of them. The highlight for us was the wonderful water from the rain catchment system, but the plushness of the bedding and the cleanliness of the property were also incredibly calming to be in. All in all a magical getaway, and we send Gigi our blessings for creating this space and sharing it with us.

We can't thank Gigi enough for sharing her tropical paradise with us. She went above and beyond to graciously accommodate any request we had. The cottage was immaculate and the bed was so cozy (a dream to come home to after a long day hiking in Volcano National Park just 5min down the road). Everything about the space—from the appliances to the linens—was top quality. I couldn't recommend more highly!
