"Location, parking place, great kitchen facilities (including paper towels!), surrounded by nature, peace, safety. (Kilauea Volcano should have erupted one day earlier! :))"

Great location and very connected to nature
Great location, very close to the national park which allows for night walks and sunrise views without having to drive for too long
It’s an old house, so it’s expected to have different conditions. You can hear the other guests even if they are trying to be quiet, which gives a feeling of lack of privacy. But this isn’t a big deal if you’re staying for just one or two nights

Good value for money. Would choose this place again.
Close to national park. Not fancy, but quiet, reasonably clean, and other occupants were pleasant. My room was comfortable. The shared kitchen worked reasonably well, but is small for multiple users.
Staff could have paid more attention to the property, but they seemed responsive when contacted. There was a leak under the kitchen sink which I think they should have noticed before it was reported. Path lighting from parking area to house was poor.

It was an affordable place to stay

Needed more hangers in the closet.

The location is great. The room was comfortable.
The location to Volcano national Park is very close. And easy to get to. I like it that they had dehumidifiers around.
The facility seemed a little dry. Or bland, the open area did not feel comfortable at all. But the room was good.

Super cozy stay in Volcano village, would love to visit again
I feel like the photos don't do this place justice. It was so so cozy!! I got the best nights' sleep of my trip here, and the shower was lovely and warm.
I wish there was a water filter - we had to buy a few bottles each day (which was a bit pricey in the village). Couldn't figure out the TV but that wasn't really an issue as we were so tired each day from exploring. Really just a water filter would have made the stay 100% perfect.

Will stay again, already recommended to friends
Charm, charachter of old building, ease of check in and check out, price was good.
Would like a bench at the front door to sit and take off wet shoes

This place is depressing, has the vibe of a church rummage sale.
Good towels, great location. The dehumidifier’s kept the place from feeling moldy. The housekeeper kept it very clean.
Front door lock hard to open with my key. No condiments in the kitchen, including salt and pepper. Not enough coffee mugs for the guests. Some pans were old, cramped up teflon. Decor looks like they bought it all at a church rummage sale in 1992. A family staying at the same time left early to stay at the competition. The vibe overall I would describe as neglect. If the place is full, they’re pulling down more than $1000 a night yet it looks like they haven’t spent a dollar on the kitchen or the decor. I mean, who uses compact fluorescent lightbulbs for bedside table lamps? Perhaps they’re using it as a place to store furniture that they can’t let go of? My recommendation to them is that whoever is in charge spends two nights and one day staying in their place. Better yet, whoever their romantic partner is, have them stay. It’ll be obvious what needs to change.

Lovely stay would definitely rebook
Really pretty property with lovely jungle surroundings Huge room and lots of storage Working TV in room Very close to volcano national park Well equipped kitchen Bathrooms were very clean and lots of clean towels and shampoo and soap provided was great Strong WiFi Rooms had fans to cool you or heaters to warm you which I thought was really nice Loved the self check in process Very easy to find
Older property so understandably walls are very thin in our room but we were right next to kitchen/ common dining area and since people had late dinners and very early loud breakfast like 7am and we could hear every word they said, this woke us. Also dining room lights wouldn’t turn off for a long time and so shone under our doors very bright and there’s no obvious switches for these they’re on timers I think? Would have liked to turn them off at night especially as they’re signs up about saving energy Place was mostly very clean but our room had a lot of dust/dirt on floor when we arrived which we noticed as you have to take shoes off when you go in - could feel lots of dirt/sand on floor and our feet were black on the bottom after walking around barefoot but the rest of the place was really clean. Toilet was a “water saving toilet” but would only fully flush if you held the handle down for a long time which seemed to use more water than normal toilets and also meant a lot of people kept leaving “things” in the toilet which wasn’t nice to keep finding maybe could have a sign up saying to hold it for longer to avoid this Nothing major was a very pleasant stay
