About this cabin rental

Frio River is 2.5 miles, Garner State Park 3.5 miles. Situated eleven miles from Leakey, Utopia, Concan and six miles from Rio Frio.

Wrap A Round Porch with porch swing, full kitchen with ice maker, oven, dishes, cookware, coffee pot. Linens furnished. Beds include Queen size bed in bedroom # 1, One double bed plus two sets of bunk beds with double on bottom and single on top in bedroom #2, Day bed in living room. BBQ grill, fire pit. Over 70 species of birds, deer, antelope, wild turkeys, rabbits, fox and other wildlife. Hiking trail up the mountain, thirty acres to hike on. Frio River is 2.5 miles away & 3.5 miles to Garner State Park. Lost Maples State Park with fall foliage is 20 miles away. Beautiful scenery and many activities nearby. Dark skies for star gazing. Many bird feeders and nesting boxes, timed deer feeders, turkey feeders. This property has been in the same family for over one hundred years.

Got this place for a 3 day get away. The owners were lovely and very accommodating! They even loaned us something’s we didn’t think we’d need. The house was well stocked with all sorts of supplies in the kitchen and the bathroom. For its smaller size it sleeps a lot of people. Perfect for family or friends, as long as you don’t mind all sleeping in a bunk room situation. We loved the close proximity to Garner and are already planning a trip to rent this place again in the future.

This is the heart of the southwestern side of the Texas Hill Country. It's rare to find a ranch that opens their gates to strangers, and you have the only cabin they rent. Located just a couple on minutes from the entrance of Garner State Park, so you can enjoy the beauty of the Frio River, during the day, and your own quiet, secluded house with all the amenties of home, and much more. Elaine and Culver are the best hosts I've have, in 10 years of renting vacation homes, and are only a couple of hundred yards away, ready to help you enjoy your stay.

Very peaceful. Short distance to Garner State Park and on the same road as Garner. Deer, rabbits and numerous birds at the cabin. My favorite was sitting on the porch swing enjoying the peace and quiet. Cabin was very spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed talking with Elaine and Culver upon arrival. Recommend highly.

The location was perfect to meet family at Garner State Park. The porch was awesome. So many beautiful birds. Plenty of space for the two of us. Loft could sleep 6-8, but more than we needed this time. A little outdated with window units for AC, but was all we needed for a comfortable stay. Well Stocked kitchen, bathroom etc.. Host were great to greet us with all the information and available if we needed anything.

The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. Elaine and Culver were wonderful hosts and were very accommodating. We appreciated the fact they didn't jack up their rates for the eclipse like so many other property owners did. I would highly recommend staying at the Cherry Creek cabin when visiting the Texas hill country.

Our family enjoyed our time at the cabin while visiting Garner State Park. The location is great being only 5 minutes away! The kids enjoyed the nature trail on the property. The laundry room on site was greatly appreciated to wash stinky river water out of our swimsuits and towels!

Our family of seven really enjoyed our stay at this cabin just down the road from Garner State Park. The hosts were friendly and helpful and let us know in advance that we could have a late check-out, which is wonderful when you are traveling with five kids. The cabin is bigger than it looks in the pictures and there was plenty of room for our family to spread out. Our big kids (ages 12-22) all loved having their own beds. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is a small grocery a few miles away in case you forget to pack something. We climbed the trail and the kids had fun exploring the property and hanging out on the porch swing and hammock. We made s'mores at the fire pit and were amazed by the numerous hummingbirds. My husband is generally reluctant to leave the 'safety of the cave' (as he puts it) but on the drive home, he couldn't stop talking about how much he wants to come back and stay at this cabin again! This place is a winner!

A sweet place to get away from it all and just breathe. We felt welcomed right away and just relaxed the whole time we were there. The many birds and daily deer visitors were a highlight, but we also caught sight of wild turkeys and an antelope. The internet service was iffy, but they are working on that. The hosts were so kind. We hope to come back in the spring; there’s so much more to explore.

We had a great time at Cherry Creek cabin! The owners live next door and were so kind and helpful! We saw turkeys and deer each day! Our kids had a great time playing in the fenced in yard. So this was our 2nd year coming to Garner State Park area and we wanted a cabin instead of bringing our camper. We wanted a secluded cabin that was off the grid but close enough to the park/river. This cabin was everything we were looking for. Everything was super clean and tighty when we arrived. The owners live close and they welcomed us once we were unpacked. The wildlife was absolutely beautiful. Deer, rabbits, turkeys and birds everywhere. The owners feed them daily so they are very comfortable with walking all around the cabin. Plenty of room for a family of 5. It could actually sleep 6-8 comfortably really. Super convenient to go swimming in the river all day or hiking in the mountain trails and just be so close to everything. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an off the grid experience with the family. We will definitely be going back soon.

The owners. Elaine and Culver, were so sweet and helpful. They came over after we drove up to the cabin to help us unload because a rainstorm was just about to arrive. Culver also helped me air up our paddle boards! The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Also, the wildlife was very visible and amazing! We already booked another stay.

This charming cabin is located just a few minutes from Garner State Park and the Frio River. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The hostess was VERY communicative, keeping us updated on the weather and the foliage situation. We sat out by the fire pit after a long day of hiking and watched the stars while listening to the sounds of nature. It was so peaceful!

Elaine and Culver are very gracious hosts that are extremely conscientious of their guests' needs. Rare to find that these days. We certainly appreciated every moment. Their property is in a great location with easy access to Garner SP. We loved the seclusion of the cabin. The kids loved exploring around the grounds on the 30 acres. Everything in the cabin is clean. You will have all you need to cook etc. We highly recommend this property and hosts.

I took my husband to Cherry Creek Cabin for a birthday surprise and got so much more! It was so peaceful and beautiful. Very nice cabin. Great porch for relaxing, bird watching, deer watching, plus full moon and star gazing. The hiking trails were fun too. Readily accessible to Concan, Garner, and Leaky.

Cherry Creek was very peaceful ,very Private. Beds were comfy, kitchen has everything and decorated so cute!Very Clean Cabin. My kids who are a lot older enjoyed venturing off to hike up a short trail.They enjoyed the different terrain...just as hiking should be.Trails were very easy to follow. The porch was gorgeous! Beautiful views of the mountains.Bad weather approached,which we thought Nooo!! However,It was AMAZING!! We were able to sit out on the porch and witness ONE HELL of a LIGHT SHOW while lighting up the BBQ pit that was available. Being 3 miles away from Garner we were able to hike,swim,and sight see.After staying here I know it's not gonna be so hard to round the kids back up again lol .Elaine was very sweet ,such a great host!! Can't wait, to go back!
