- Very good location - Clean and comfortable bedroom - simple but sufficient for a few nights in Naples - The host was extremely kind, offering some welcome snacks and juice, letting us put our bags super early and checking in early, after the room was clean.

What is not highlighted in most previous reviews of this accommodation is the fact that the rooms are on the top floor of an apartment block, and there’s no lift. This means 93 steps spread across 12 flights of stairs, so unless you are young and fit, or have the genes of a mountain goat, or are distantly related to Spiderman, accessing your room might present a significant challenge. Our room was basic but essentially comfortable. There’s a television, a fridge, a big bathroom, a bed and not much else. The Wi-Fi is effective with a strong signal, but storage space is minimal so we lived out of our suitcases for four days. Charging points are scarce, so it is essential that you come equipped with adaptors and extensions. Breakfast is served in your room at a time chosen by you. There’s a choice of sweet or savoury, but it’s pretty spartan and will give you just enough energy to get to the nearest café for a proper feed. Enzo and his family made us welcome and took our luggage up and down the stairs on arrival and departure. And, of course, all of the above points have to be weighed against the fact that Napul’e offers inexpensive accommodation near the centre of one of the great capitals of Europe.
