Location is great, we come up to visit family so staying in the area is important to us. The property is huge, more than enough room. Kitchen & bathrooms are lovely.

Parking is not the best if you’re travelling in more than one car. Although the property is tidy, it wasn’t very clean, not the end of the world to us as we literally used it as a base.

Decor a bit dated. Chipped crockery and frying pans need replacing.

A bit of an hit and miss for the parking. Using the back entrance at night time was a bit off putting. Not disability friendly but must admit we hadn't enquired about this. The first floor bedroom was a bit small.

Fairly central location.

Messy/dirty uncared for outside spaces to front entrance and rear - building materials and discarded items dumped. Front pathway partially obstructed by broken slates. Overgrown brambles leaves and litter. Parking plot was only suitable for small medium car and access partially blocked by bins and rubbish in the lane outside. There was a damp unpleasant smell in house on arrival particularly lower ground floor bedroom. There was wet laundry/bedding/towels drying on radiators and left stacked on kitchen worktop. I can only describe the smell as like 'feet' (Told by host that previous guests were contractors) There were no air fresheners at the property so we had to open all windows. The Crockery and cutlery was grubby and greasy and needed washing in the dishwasher prior to using. Some Kitchen cupboards were dirty and untidy with 2 items of crockery broken. Numerous half used/nearly empty jars of foods which we binned. Microwave was unfit for use, rusted and dirty. Host agreed to provide replacement. This was delivered while we were out on day 2 and left in its box on the kitchen table with original Microwave still in situ, we did not think this was appropriate so left it un packed and ate out. 1 set of keys for rear access, no front door key to the property which was awkward for a large group of guests coming and going at different times. No lock on main bathroom door again awkward for mixed group as 3 rooms had no en- suite facilities. No mirror in loft en-suite bathroom. Lack of hanging facilities for clothing. Soft Furnishings very tired and grubby on ground floor and basement lounges- needed deep cleaning or replacing. Overall seemed to lack attention to detail on the cleaning and pre-arrival checks, I would be complaining to the existing cleaning company or arranging a reputable company if this is being currently managed by the Host.

The instructions for arrival were spot on. Not really knowing what to expect as it is difficult to google the precise location, it was a very pleasant surprise when we first entered the house. It is like a Tardis, very well equipped, large spacious bedrooms with massive comfortable beds. Everywhere was clean and the house was nice and warm when we arrived. The location was good and had plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, Aldi and KFC within 5 minutes walk. The beach was approx. 20-25 minutes walk. All in all a great house which is good value for money.

Being really picky, the utensils in the kitchen could have been a little cleaner, but to be fair we as guests should share some of this responsibility and leave the equipment clean for the next guests, especially as there is a dishwasher provided. Perhaps some more saucepans would be useful but we did manage OK with those provided. It would also be useful for some guidance regarding rubbish disposal and recycling. Do not let any of the above put you off, the house is brilliant but I do believe in honest feedback and I'm sure that we will book again.
