About this cabin rental
This lovely new 3 bedroom 2 bath home is located MINUTES from The Biltmore Estate, Asheville Outlets, Blue Ridge Parkway, Bent Creek and Downtown, but still has the feeling of a private wooded environment . Enjoy the view of the mountains with a horse farm in the backdrop and the occasional family of deer crossing the path, while sipping your coffee on the covered porch in the pristine forest location. Nicely appointed home features comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, wi-fi and 55” tv. If you an outdoor enthusiast, you will love the hiking, mountain biking, road biking, kayaking, white water rafting, snow skiing and horseback riding just minutes from the cabin. Asheville has a strong tradition of street performance and outdoor music, including festivals, such as Bele Chere and the Lexington Avenue Arts & Fun Festival (LAAFF). One event is "Shindig on the Green," which happens Saturday nights during July and August on City/County Plaza. By tradition, the Shindig starts "along about sundown" and features local bluegrass bands and dance teams on stage, and informal jam sessions under the trees surrounding the County Courthouse. The "Mountain Dance & Folk Festival" started in 1928 by Bascom Lamar Lunsford is said to be the first event ever labeled a "Folk Festival". Another popular outdoor music event is "Downtown After 5," a monthly concert series held from 5 pm till 9 pm that hosts popular touring musicians as well as local acts. A regular drum circle, organized by residents in Pritchard Park, is open to all and has been a popular local activity every Friday evening.

Love having the deer every day coming by. Only small things that I say could improve was shower pressure and having some help with working the remotes, bed a bit noise when rolling over or getting in & out. Other then that it was a nice place to stay.

The house is wonderful safe clean, the only change, when traveling with an older individual, it would be nice for a taller facility in bathroom. Also, more water pressure would be nice but I would stay here again. This was our second visit.

Although the property appeared to be relatively new, every faucet and door, squeaks. The furnishings were OK, but the overall feel of the place was lacking.

Victoria made me feel very welcome upon my artival. I never heard from the owners although I has sent several messages from the time of the booking and Victoria relayed infomation as well. I had a lovely stay at Hickory Haven and my sister and I enjoyed the accomodations and the lovely setting of the cabins.

Property was clean and comfortable. Great place to relax. Right on the river with plenty of wildlife and far away enough from neighbors that you feel like you’re in your own space. Nice fire pit that got used plenty. The wrap around porch is a very nice touch. House was well stocked. Kids really got a kick out of the loft area. Cozy and comfortable property. Will definitely save as a place to return to next time in the area.

The owner Sherry was so nice to communicate with. We stayed about three levels up the mountain, not as advertized right behind the horse barn, but, still a great view. Outside was real nice, plenty of room to park, hot tub was maintained and up to date. Porch was nice and clean, outside firepit in back was a very nice touch. Inside was very good exept for the bed, master bedroom bed was terrible. So no good nights rest to lay down. Glad we went, but happy to go home to rest.

We had a great stay at Hickory Haven! The house was clean and provided plenty of room to relax. We enjoyed a morning cup of coffee on the front porch while taking in the view of the mountains and listening to the birds. In the evening, we ended our day with a soak in the hot tub. It was a great location to be a tourist, but also relax away from it all. We would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

The views from our cabin were beautiful. It was peaceful and serene. I loved the morning visits from the deer family and would sit on the porch every morning with my hot chocolate and wait for them. The property was clean and my friends and I had plenty of space. We really enjoyed the smores welcome gift. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't use the hot tub but looked at it and it was very clean and, by the smell, very well chlorinated. We didn't use it but the cabin does have a grill in the backyard but it is very small and has no lid. It's one of the little ones you would see at a park when you rent a pavilion. It's big enough to cook a few burgers and hot dogs on. If you are grilling for a larger family, it will take a while. My only complaint about the property is the showers. The shower in the shared bathroom is very narrow and the shower curtain would stick to you. The drain is on the left side in the center and we get stepping on it which wasn't fun. The bathroom is large enough that a wider tub/shower could have been installed. The shower in the main bedroom was much wider and nicer. The biggest complaint was from the shower heads. They are placed very close to the ceiling and due to this the water pressure isn't great for rinsing your hair and body. It also appeared that there were parental controls on the television. My party was 3 adults and we could not watch a rated R movie. I'm not sure if the owners put the parental control on or if a previous guest did. I did send a message to ask the owner but I did not receive a response. It wasn't that big of a deal and by no means effected our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would consider staying again. There are 5 cabins in the area and would be great for a stay with extended family because each family could have their own cabin but be close enough to interact easily.

Stayed with my family of 5. Very clean and comfortable and large enough for all of us. The outdoor environment is peaceful and relaxing surrounded by nature. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus. Sherry was quick to answer any questions I had and provided us with very helpful info about the surrounding area and fun things to do.

I loved our cottage 108. It was clean, comfortable, and the front porch was a favorite spot to sit and watch the foxes!
This was a perfect place to relax and let the stresses of life go!
There was a large drop off in front of the house so if you have small children, that may be a concern.

Comfortable and close to Asheville
Comfortable and close to Asheville
We were in town for UNCA graduation. The property was about 20 minutes from West Asheville. The home had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Pillows, blankets and beds were all great. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies. The wifi worked well. We saw wildlife. We prefer to stay farther out in the woods where you cannot see or hear your neighbors, but this spot was remote enough and close (within 30 minutes) to everywhere we needed to be. Would be especially nice if you had a large group that wanted separate houses close by as there are 5 other cabins spread out on the property.

My family of 5 and 2 dogs were looking to get away from the city and just be together for Christmas. We could not ask for a better home and cute too. It came stocked with everything, one does not need to bring anything. With the supermarket being so close it was easy to cook at home. The house was very clean and well kept. The mountain view was so nice and relaxing, the clear glass door was a plus. It was also fun walking around the neighborhood and everyone was so friendly. Although there were other houses around, I loved the position of the house because it was on a little hill and felt very private. The porch was great to hang out in. Most importantly my dogs enjoyed staying there. Having a mountain dog who is not allowed to bark much in our home, he was very happy to be allowed to bark in this home. He fit right in with the other barking dogs from surrounding houses. But inside the house was very quiet and could not hear the dogs or roosters. He loved laying in the porch and running up and down the hill. Do not look any further, this is the perfect vacation home.

A White Christmas to end 2020
This cabin and its views were nothing short of a scene out of a Hallmark Christmas Movie with snow on the ground, winding roads, and a picturesque view of the mountains. The property was the perfect size for our three families and it made for a perfect way to end each day of exploring. I would definitely go back to this location.

Beautiful cabin and area
We had a great time staying in this cabin. The drive to the property is a beautiful winding road through wooded neighborhoods. Our first morning there greeted us with a soft 3" blanket of fresh snow. The next morning we woke up to a family of deer grazing in the front yard. Modern conveniences are not far away, a fully stocked high end grocery store was just a couple miles down the street. We would definitely stay here again.
