Loved Brixham. Great location and very clean cottage

To many steps and on a hill. I’m disabled with a prosthetic leg. My fault as I don’t do enough research.

Comfortable stay over Christmas

The location was great, right on the harbour. Great views. Comfy beds and pillows. We had all we needed in the kitchen to make Christmas lunch (except a freezer) Washing machine and dishwasher made life a little easier. It was very quiet at night, despite overlooking the harbour. Heating worked well (new windows would help it not have to work so hard!) All in all was a comfortable stay.

The directions to the property were useless, it said we could park outside to unload then move the car - we could if we were driving a tiny car, we weren't, our car didn't fit down the road. A simple what 3 words to the steps the other side of the property would have been much easier to unload. We found this after we'd lugged all of our luggage, Christmas presents, food etc up from the car park. Although the property was comfortable and clean enough (not spotless) it could do with a bit of attention, lots of scuff marks on walls, carpet on the stairs was grubby, the beading in the hallway on the floor was missing, the kitchen cupboards were tatty. The paint was coming away in the bath. - none of this affected our stay, it would have just looked a bit nicer and cared for. Unfortunately there was no freezer, staying over Christmas we could have really done with one, or at least known there wasn't one. The fridge did however freeze pretty much everything, except the ice-cream. Christmas lunch was delayed because we had to defrost the meat and veg. The entrance could do with a spruce up, it could look really nice if a bit of effort was put into it, and the front door was tatty. The towels, why are they so small? Would have been great for toddlers, but not adults!

The view was amazing and it gave us a wonderful and comfortable base in lovely Brixham. We loved the quirky entrance and feel it was a hidden gem.

location was excellent, the beds were comfy and linen was lovely. the view from the living area was stunning. The apartment was very comfortable. Everything you need is there. WiFi connection was good.

Finding the apartment was not that easy. Also very narrow and steep steps into the property. Not really able to drop off cases as the entrance is at the back of the property. A little walk upto the apartment. Not a suitable apartment if you have any mobility issues. The towels provided were tiny. Need some bath sheets.

Disappointed. Overpriced.Too many issues. ‘High hopes ‘ became ‘No Hopes’!

The views from garden and window to the front , unbeatable. Bathrooms nicely finished and showers in good order and work well ( shame about the toilet)

Garden unkept , old brown leaves not swept all around garden furniture. Litter stuffed in side of one of chairs . Cushions on garden furniture photos are only on seat ,no back or stool cushions ( despite photos showing otherwise). No bbq ( despite photos and messages stating otherwise). No parking permit ( despite messages stating otherwise). Fridge not cold enough, broken shelves in door . Towels not big enough. Sofa seen better days . En-suite toilet didn’t flush ( rectified by plumber during stay). Blind in bedroom fell off. Saucepan filthy with either custard or mushy pea like substance . Knifes and forks had food leftovers on them.Free parking advertised means if you can find a space nearby on a road ( not a car park).

Expected much better from the accommodation for the price. Wouldn't recommend.

Great location and views. Decent size

Dog mess on terrace on arrival. Dishes and plates not clean with food stuck on them. Likewise with knives, forks and spoons. No plug in bathroom (well there is in one of them but it doesn’t work) BBQ very dirty and rusty. Access Steps. Although mentioned in the listing that there are steep steps, if you have luggage and its wet they are an accident waiting to happen. General feeling that the apartment was a bit tired and needs freshening up. Accommodation was very warm. No fan provided. Carpets stained and worn, and generally tired looking. On providing photos of the issues, the host proceeded in sending irrelevant photos in return. We cleared the mess and sorted out things like dirty dishes ourselves. Sense of lack of ownership and acknowledgement of the issues (maybe because we visited over a weekend). Complete money grab. Overall, for the price, the accommodation was very disappointing and didn't meet our expectations. Would not return.

Location and the view. Good water pressure. Size of kitchen.

Master bedroom bed was uncomfortable. Outside areas were unclean and in need of maintenance. Inside was ok but needs some TLC and updating. Overall is in need of renovating. Steps to the property are not easy to get luggage down/up and needs accurate description for people with accessibility issues. Overall it didn't meet our expectations for the price we paid.

Excellent apartment but tricky getting to it

View from the lounge is excellent and a great location to be central to brixham. It's clean with everything you need and the host could not have been better

The access to the apartment is very steep and narrow. This could have been clearer. And also work is going on above the BBQ area making it unusable due to noise during our stay but that's no fault of the host.

Great location and plenty to see. plenty of room for just the two of us, and the property is very well set up. great property for a few days.

Not really a dislike as we were expecting it, but the stairs at the rear of the property where you access the unit are REALLY narrow and steep. we are pretty mobile so not a big problem for us, but those less mobile may struggle.

Perfect location right in the centre of all Brixhams amazing attractions, panoramic views of the harbour and watching the outside world go by if you unfortunately pick the wettest march in years, however superb comfortable accommodation and local pubs made up for this.

Trawling through avalanche of emails on booking where one or two would have been sufficient. There seemed to be a general consensus amongst holiday makers in the local pubs that the booking process (mainly the uploading of driving licence / passport details that took numerous attempts ) would put them off in future.

The Location is great and super views and walks. Lovely large living area, 2 bathrooms. General cleaning items available and a lovely touch of biscuits and tea and coffee.

Superb

Fantastic place, the apartment was very clean and well looked after, everything was spotless, the bed was very comfortable and a good night sleep was had, stayed for 3 nights and could of easily stayed for longer. the view from the window was just stunning watching the boats every day.

The access the steps to the apartment, very steep and narrow. However this did not spoil our stay. its a fantastic place and will call back.

Fantastic location!! We loved watching the hustle and bustle of the harbour from the outdoor space and lounge window.

As pre-warned, the steps were steep and narrow and returning at night with limited light, was a little tricky. Perhaps additional lighting would help.

The location was perfect, spacious and clean. Easy to access the key on arrival and leave on departure. Views were stunning over Brixham Harbour and the terrace was well equipped with a bbq and table with chairs.

The steep steps to the cottage. It would be no good for elderly or infirm.

Really lovely house but I wouldn’t say it was up to deluxe standard. A few diy issues.

The outside space was a lovely garden terrace but I feel it could have had a bit of a clean up. eg - dandelion weeds on the steps, the outside table underneath the cover was dirty, fairy lights on the back wall not working. It could have benefited from a good sweep around.

A very enjoyable break at a lovely location, in a well appointed property, with perfect views.

Great location, unforgettable views, really good facilities at High Hopes, directly adjacent to the harbour and all local facilities. Great walks along the coastal path. The parking permit included with the deal was really useful and saved a lot of hassle.

The steps leading down to the entrance door are very challenging for all but the youngest, fittest and most agile - if that is you - you'll love it. It is not possible to get a vehicle close to the property for loading or unloading so think about what you are taking with you and how you will carry/wheel it. The property really does have everything you need - so you really don't need to take much with you.
