A restored centuries-old property, full of soul and character.
Set in the heart of historic Alfama, Lisbon’s most authentic and picturesque neighbourhood.
Many of the city’s best-known monuments, traditional restaurants and fado houses are just a short walk away.
Ideal for families and groups, the apartment accommodates up to 10 guests and is arranged over four floors, connected by a modern open internal staircase:
• First floor: two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with two single beds) and one bathroom.
• Second floor: two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with two single beds) and one bathroom.
• Third floor: one bedroom with a double bed, one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area.
• Fourth floor: a bright and spacious living room with a sofa and armchairs, opening onto one of Alfama’s largest private rooftop terraces.
With plenty of space to relax and enjoy the view, the rooftop is the perfect setting for breakfast, sunset drinks or a peaceful evening overlooking the Tagus River and Alfama’s iconic tiled rooftops.
Bathed in natural light, the interiors are rich in traditional Portuguese character. Large windows, classic iron balconies, decorative ceilings, vintage furniture, Portuguese tiles, golden details and crystal chandeliers create a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere.
Original oil paintings appear throughout the property, from canvases to painted furniture. Lines from poems, songs and fado lyrics add a unique touch, creating an immersive setting inspired by art, music and literature.
Bed linen, towels, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and body lotion are provided. Amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, air conditioning, a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, toaster and hairdryer. The apartment is also equipped with an alarm system and a safe.
Self check-in is available, with access codes sent before arrival. Early check-in and late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability, at no extra cost.
Please note that the apartment is arranged over several floors, connected by open staircases, and has no lift. It is therefore not suitable for guests with reduced mobility and may not be suitable for young children.
The property is located on a narrow pedestrian-only street. The nearest taxi or ride-hailing drop-off point is in front of the Fado Museum, approximately a 3-minute walk away.

Good location, was close to what we needed. house was very nicely appointed , kitchen was equipped with everything, we loved the small terrace with some great views it was perfect for sunrise & our nightly wine and cheese We had a small issue with some lights not working but Ana had an Electrician come and take care of it right away. Home had so many nice things about it. Beautiful furniture , nice artwork and poetic writings on the wall. Very historic area home has a lot of stairs but we managed nicely.

In the heart of Alfama, this house was truly a gem. The location was excellent, giving us a real taste of the authenticity of a Lisbon neighborhood. Let me first say, I’ve never stayed at a more meticulously arranged and clean VRBO. The amenities were great and communication with Ana (owner) was seamless. The pastry shops were right downstairs, and there were many good restaurants for any meal. We were also in the midst of festivals, which were a blast! Thank you Ana for sharing your passion with us!
