A beautiful property in an ideal location

We loved our stay in Cadebei. It is a beautiful property that has been carefully furnished and decorated with everything needed for a relaxing family holiday. Everything in the property has been thoughtfully considered including the kitchen with lots of cooking utensils and crockery. The location was perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed being in the old village of Gonte and were very grateful to have a reserved parking space just a short walk away from the property. We loved our meals on the terrace with the most beautiful views of the lake. We would love to return!

We knew about the spiral staircase in advance so we asked Julia and Mario to put up the stair gate for us - they were very happy to do this. This is a good idea for anyone with young children.

A wonderful stay in a unique property overlooking Lake Maggiore

Very friendly hosts who spoke great English so were able to not only give us a comprehensive tour of the property, but also some great insights and recommendations into the local area. We loved the property and how characterful and well apportioned it was and the welcome foods that were at the property on arrival. Our hosts were accessible via WhatsApp if we needed them and we appreciated having their advice on the local medical centre during our stay. It was so appreciated that we were able to borrow beach towels from the hosts and we appreciated the children’s toys too. We like the location of the property in that it was quiet but did have a local cafe and shop and was close to lots of the main attractions. We had considered staying in a bigger place but are really glad to have stayed in Gonte instead.

We knew about the spiral staircase but hadn’t quite appreciated how dangerous it would have been for our youngest child (2.5yrs) so it was a little annoying to not have a bathroom on the middle level. This was advised in advance so do not hold this against the hosts at all, it was just a little bit of an annoyance that we had to escort our youngest to the bathrooom every time.

Outstanding!

With no doubt, these were one of our best holidays! Cadebei, located in magnificent Gonte, is a magical, beautiful, relaxing and… spotless place! Regretfully, the pictures lie because the place is much more beautiful, full of authenticity, quality and taste. The owners were not only great hosts, but also very generous friends in all possible ways ❤️ We are looking forward to the next holidays (already booked 😃), to continue discovering the breathtaking area and plenty of walking paths. Small tip: hurry, because the place is selling too fast. Thank you so much Julia and Mario!

We love Cadebei

We spent an entire week at Cadebei 2 and truly enjoyed it. We really liked the place – the surroundings are peaceful and calm, and the apartment offers a beautiful view of the lake and the church. The downstairs bathroom is very stylish, with a rock wall forming one side. The staircase across the three floors was completely safe for our 5-year-old child. The owner was very hospitable; we were welcomed with a generous package of local treats. A nearby restaurant served good food. The beach by the road below was great – even though we were concerned about traffic noise, it was effectively blocked by a tall wall and vegetation. We really enjoyed visiting Cannobio, Cannero Riviera, and also appreciated Verbania and a boat trip to the islands. Lago Maggiore is a great alternative to Lago di Garda, and we especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere in Oggebbio, which we never experienced in the busy and hotel-crowded Limone sul Garda. We would love to return next time, as there will always be more to discover – the fortifications on Cima di Morissolo, the nearby zipline, the mountains of Val Gardena, etc. And I must not forget to mention the fascinating nature of the less-visited part of the Alps around Pizzo Barone, which is within easy reach by car.

Relaxing holiday in a charming flat with an absolutely stunning lake view - 100% Lago Maggiore

The view of the terrace was exceptional, you could see the sun raising above the montains, you see the entire lake, the small houses of the village below .. a very romantic and pitoresque scenery! We also loved the furniture and design in the apartment, everything chosen with love and with the eye of an artist. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was easy to cook, just as if you were at home. The place was also very quiet, it was perfect to relax and calm down. The hosts Julia and Mario are just lovely people, always ready to support us with any question. We can only recommend this place and will certainly come back!

Wonderful place in the heart of Lago Maggiore

Our stay at Cadebei was incredible! The village is nice, quiet and very characteristic, with a very nice mix of "mountain feeling” and southern touch. The house is wonderful, very confortable and cosy, was renovated just a few weeks ago and was extremely clean. What’s great is that wherever you are (living room, kitchen, bedroom, balcony of course!) the lake is always there, just beyond the window, so close you’d think you can barely touch the surface. And, last but not least, Mario & Julia are two wonderful guests, very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back in the future!

Ein Ort, an dem man zur Ruhe kommen kann ...

Unser Gastgeber Mario hat uns sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen und uns beim Tragen unseres Gepäcks in die Wohnung geholfen. Außerdem hat er frisches Brot, Salami, Tomaten und Mozzarella besorgt, weil wir erst abends angekommen waren und er uns gut versorgt wissen wollte. Zudem gab es noch eine Flasche Wein. Die Wohnung ist traumhaft schön und überaus sauber. Sehr stilvoll, hochwertig und gemütlich eingerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Klasse ist auch das Trinkwasser in sehr guter Qualität, so dass man sich das Tragen von Getränkekisten sparen kann. Wir haben uns total wohlgefühlt. Die Ruhe und der Ausblick dort oben sind einfach unglaublich. Auf dem süßen Balkon konnten wir Mitte Dezember draußen in der Sonne frühstücken. Es war ein rundum schöner Aufenthalt. Vor allem auch durch die die Herzlichkeit unserer beiden Gastgeber Mario und Julia.

Come a casa!

Bellissima casa arredata in modo da sentirsi davvero a casa, vista spettacolare sul lago e sui tetti del bel borgo di Gonte. È stato piacevole anche trascorrere qualche ora di riposo a casa durante la giornata. Fortunata la possibilità di fare colazione in terrazza al sole a metà novembre!

Super Ausstattung, alles hat hervorragend funktioniert. Die Lage ist mitten in einem romantischen, typisch italienischen Dorf und man hat einen schönen Blick auf den See. Mario und Julia sind ganz tolle Gastgeber!

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alles ist wirklich sehr sauber und es fehlt insgesamt an gar nichts. Die Küche ist auch super ausgestattet. Es ist angenehm ruhig und man hat einen tollen Ausblick auf den See. Wir haben die Woche dort sehr genossen. Julia und Mario sind sehr nette Gastgeber. Vielen Dank für alles!

Ein ganz besonderes Fleckchen

Unser Aufenthalt war unvergesslich schön. Das gesamte Haus ist mit ganz viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es lädt zum Verweilen ein. Auch die Umgebung ist wunderschön, ein Strand ist in 10-15 Minuten erreichbar, ein kleiner Supermarkt mit lokalen Spezialitäten und eine Bar/Café mit super Espresso befinden sich fußläufig. Es sind einige Stufen zu bewältigen und die Wendeltreppe ist recht schmal, wenn man gut zu Fuß ist, ist das aber alles kein Problem. Mario und Julia sind unglaublich bemüht und herzlich. Wir haben uns auf Anhieb sehr wohl gefühlt. Die beiden waren jederzeit für uns erreichbar und hatten ganz wunderbare Tipps für uns. Abends hört man übrigens auf der Terrasse nichts als Grillen. Wir hätten am liebsten verlängert!

En unik och smakfullt renoverad lägenhet i flera hundra år gammalt hus. Italien som man vill ha det!

Det fantastiskt omtänksamma och trevliga värdparet. Samt utsikten från vår fina terrass. Boendet var helt klart över all förväntan! Vänligt, personligt möte vid ankomst. Julia visade oss runt i lägenheten som hade allt från mockakokare till tvättmaskin och gav oss en massa bra tips och förslag för att hjälpa. Vi var två vuxna, två femtonåringar och en nioåring och boendet var perfekt för oss. Ett unikt badrum i bottenplan som direkt uthugget i berget bakom huset! Vackert! Hela huset var unikt. Typiskt italienskt, flera hundra år gammalt men utsökt renoverat. Vi var lite oroliga för parkeringsmöjligheter, men det var inga problem då vi fick låna en parkering av Julia och Mario i närheten. Känns som om allt runt om Maggiore är byggt i uppförsbacke, men det gör också att man får en fantastisk utsikt över sjön nästan oavsett var man är. Var beredd på att det är några trappsteg upp genom smal, italiensk gränd. Det var inga problem för oss. Tar ca 8 min att gå ner till sjön för ett härligt dopp vid närmsta bad. Vi tog oss också till en lite större by strax norr om Oggebbio för att bada. Där var det verkligen toppklass. Både välskött gräsmatta och sandstrand. Lokal restaurang med Italiens godaste pizza och fantastisk vy ut över sjön, ligger i närheten av lägenheten. Finns också en lokal liten affär som har det mesta och ett skönt fik med gott kaffe, glass, vin eller öl om man vill ha. Där samlas områdets lokala för att umgås. Förvänta dig inget typiskt turisthak här i området. Älskade det och hoppas kunna komma tillbaka!
