Great location, away from congested tourist areas but close enough to access all of Bruges attractions
Great bed and pillows, linens and towels
Responsive and accommodating host
Bedroom lighting is not bright enough.
Note that the staircase up to the apartment is steep - not a problem for me but maybe for others.

Very small niggles. We had no English breakfast tea in the facilities and the TV didn't work in the bedroom.

Reasonably priced, good location, had everything you need for a couple of nights stay. Coffee pods and tea bags provided and a small shower gel and shampoo. Bed was comfy and the room was warm.
The stairs to the attic room were extremely steep, we are a fit couple in our early 30’s and thought they were dodgy. There was also no door on the bathroom and the toilet smelt of sewage, which meant with it being a studio room the whole room smelt a bit, and there was zero privacy when using the bathroom. The room was also quite dusty.

The description of the hotel on Booking is very confused and it difficult to figure out which pictures actually show the room one is to be staying in. The descriptive details like parquet floors and walk-in shower are true, but there are many important details that are not described that present unpleasant surprises. This review refers to what is called the queen studio. That is shown, with very partial views, in the pictures with the black wall and slanted ceiling. This room under the roof might actually be 29 square meters, but you cannot stand up in half of that area. The highest part is mostly occupied by the opening for the stairs, necessarily safeguarded by a high black railing. The first flight of stairs to this room is narrow and curved; coming up the second, one has to watch ones head, the steps are narrow and steep. Normal for a traditional house in Bruges, but not possible for many older people. Even if one has no problem actually getting up and down those stairs, getting your luggage up there is a feat. On the other hand, many have complained about mosquitoes - I don't believe you can blame a hotel for insects in the area, but if you want to avoid or diminish their presence, you can't open the windows - not an option during the august heat. It is understandable that a room under the roof would be hot, but the lack of air-conditioning in such circumstances is a problem. There is a fan, but that would only cool the room if you do open the windows at night. The room was clean, but it's very structure implies dust and cobwebs in some areas of the beams - you get a good view of that when you try to plug in your devices into the few sockets, all located in the area where the roof is so low that you hardly fit kneeling or sitting on the floor.
The walk-in shower looks nice, especially if you are partial to gold, but it is not possible to use it without water sprinkling and leaking onto the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Not a huge problem, it will dry, but a dangerously slippery. The bathroom as such (shower and toilet) does not have any sort of door - not a feature to everyone's liking. The sink is outside. The only mirror is above that sink, quite high for a short person, and without sufficient light to actually see your face. Not possible for applying your lipstick, for instance. Not great for shaving either. Some people might find the decore curious, but the many porcelain or ceramic figures (on the shelves, above the bed, on the floor) might be art to some and a nuisance to others. The downstairs areas do not invite use because they are small and crowded by furniture, objects of all sorts, and bags of laundry from prior clients' stay.
