Varandas do Nabão

Centrally located, close to shops and restaurants, a short uphill walk to the castle (however it was closed for maintenance during our stay). Functional kitchen space, reasonably equipped for a short day. Air conditioning was very useful in the hot weather! Suitably spacious apartment, comfortable furniture & beds.

No on site parking, and the large car park nearby was not available on Thursday nights due to the market on Friday, however other car parks were available a further walk away. Not very easy to locate the entrance with the information provided.

The apartment was well-maintained and had everything we needed, and is in the perfect spot. Very comfortable and we appreciated the air conditioning. The hosts were easy to contact, friendly and attentive.

Bit cramped for 4 people Would have improved the score if basic foods were left, like sugar salt etc

The location was good for easy access to the town. The accommodation was pleasant to look at.

The TV didn't work (not great when staying with kids, both for them to have a little down time and for us once the kids had gone to bed). There was only a sofa for two/three people so we couldn't all sit together comfortably. The plastic coated mattress protector made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The windows aren't sufficient to keep the road noise out so we were all disturbed many times throughout the night. Only one out of four of us had a bedside table. Not ideal if you want to keep a glass of water/ reading glasses/ book next to you!
