A lovely little cottage that made our stay in the New Forest feel so relaxing and peaceful. All the facilities that you could need inside, and we loved spending time outside in the hot tub watching the goats play!

Delightful stay in lovely conversion with a super outlook

The accommodation vastly exceeded our expectations. A delightful and stunning conversion with everything that one would need. We especially enjoyed the lovely outlook. Just a two-night stay so no time to use the hot tub (sadly). We would highly recommend. We stayed in the Shire Cottage.

My two daughters, myself and granddaughter went to Bashford to chill out for a few days and that’s exactly what we wante

Loved the location, beautiful surroundings with all the animals, loved watching the sunset relaxing in the hot tub, my eleven year old granddaughter loved getting up in the morning and going out to say hello to the animals her favourite donkey was Paddington.

A beautiful property in a perfect location for exploring the new forest and the Dorset coast. The property was immaculate and well equipped. The hot tub looked out to the fields of goats and donkeys and was the perfect place to unwind. Would definitely recommend!

The Shires Location fantastic. Accommodation spot on, great size, well equipped as a base for exploring the New Forest. Animals lovely to see in the fields Hot tub perfect & weather was perfect to complete a beautiful few days away! Highly recommend 👍

It is everything you hoped it would be

I really liked the cleanliness of the place and the layout. Great for groups or friends or family’s. The bathroom is lovely!! And I really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, everything you need in there. The donkeys were at our gate when we first arrived which was a lovely surprise, we wished they were there for the whole stay.

Nothing, maybe only that the place was off a main road so not the safest to walk to the nature reserve up the road.

We loved the location, particularly the farm aspect. It was cosy, the children loved the bunk beds and the hot tub was a hit aswell. The interior decor was perfect and suited the style of property. Had everything we needed.

Vary spacious, kitchen had everything for cooking, great location (right on the edge of the New Forest), bathroom is superb!

No wifi. No staff (you basically get there and check yourself in), the pillows were a bit too soft for my taste.

plenty of space for us as a family of 4, bed linen and towels were all white and very fresh smelling. fully functioning kitchen with some milk in the fridge too which was a nice touch. It was like going from home to home.

Lovely setting with farm (goats, donkeys) out the back. Nice converted barn accommodation. Lovely hot tub. Large grass area where my children played football. Nice and quiet, just a few holiday apartments. Very close to the New Forest.

The property was unreal. It was so clean when we arrived and the location is stunning. The hot tub was a great touch and over looking the farm topped it! It was central to everything within a 10/15 minute drive including some lovely walks, restaurants and shops and the area was very peaceful.

Lovely cottage, beautiful surroundings.

The Shire cottage was a perfect holiday cottage for me, my three friends and my daughter. The hot tub was a lovely treat and there are plenty of lovely New Forest walks very nearby. The beds were super comfortable and the cottage was well stocked up with towels, crockery, etc. The communication beforehand was super clear and everything went according to plan. Would really recommend staying here and hope to return one day soon.

Only a small thing, but we struggled to find cooking oil in the local shop. It would have been helpful if a little bit could have been available for us to use on arrival as a basic/staple addition.

2nd Fantastic Stay at Blashford Manor

Facilities are superb! Owners are very generous and welcoming! Cottage was exceptionally clean - quiet - very well maintained. Hot tub is really clean and well maintained.

If I had to be really picky. The gravel drive to the entrance needs re-levelling - it floods easily and the pits are just a bit much for a STD cars suspension.

A lovely place to stay in the New Forest.

The animals in the surrounding fields were cute and lovely to see. Martin, our hos have us some great tips for the ebac( and local pubs in the forest.

Given how hot it was when we stayed, it would have been nice to have had an icebox section in the fridge to have ice.

Suited our needs, but attention to detail required.

The cottage was cute and the donkeys were lovely. The rainfall shower and under floor heating were fab. Decor lovely also.

Things like olive oil to cook with weren’t provided which in other reviews it said they would be. All crockery and glasses were dirty and we had to wash before we used them. The single beds were very uncomfortable. There is only a mirror in the bathroom and one in the main bedroom. Not good when you have 4 girls all wanting to dry their hair, no plug socket next to mirror either so we moved it and dried hair in the dining area. Hot tub was lovely, we enjoyed it, just a shame it overlooks the car park and not the lovely field view.
