2-night stay for a gig in Dublin

Location next to Castletown estate with very pretty walks the Celbridge main street with everything you need (lots of places for a drink!) was great. We got the bus into Dublin for a gig, took about 50 mins and ran very regularly. The house itself was very pretty, perfect size for 3 people, clean, comfortable and really nicely decorated. The bathroom is on the ground floor but that wasn't a problem for us at all. House manager was just a phone call away if we needed anything which was very convenient.

Very busy and a lot of footfall passing directly outside the house including people stopping to look and talk about the building. Very obvious why as its a beautiful historic building but might not be for everyone! Would have been useful to have been given the code for the lockbox before arrival as we did end up waiting outside to meet the house manager for a while. It was lovely to be shown around the house by someone, but would have been nice to wait inside.

A bit noisy at times . Also although it is supposed to be dog friendly it seemed very strict so I didn’t feel relaxed about having my dog there

Great place to stay!

We loved the historic past of the house, the location next to a large park (ideal to walk the dog), the securely enclosed garden (important for us as dog owners), the calm, the geographic situation (from there you can visit Dublin as well as the Wicklow Mountains or Trim, Tara, etc. The kitchen was well equipped with tools and provided tea, coffee, oil.

The wifi worked, but is a bit weak. No worries, we would book the house again, this is just a minor default (that could be easily fixed).

The location is wonderful, right at the gates of the Castletown estate AND right on the end of Celbridge Main Street. The property itself is wonderfully authentic,, of its time (though with added modern facilities!).

Our visit coincided with the first blast of winter, which percolated past the front door. The stairwell up to the bedrooms was icy cold in the evenings ...
