Good and safe choice, 2km from the centre of Helsinki

Very clean, very friendly staff and right next to a bus station taking you to the city centre.

The room is quite small with no fridge and it gets really cold at night. You can ask the reception for a mini portable heater which is given to you free of charge.

Modern Finnish design for a comfortable stay

The spa was one of the reasons I had booked Valo. The design and in particular the swinging chairs in the common area.

Not all the spa was open due to maintenance. I know it's a small detail but it'd be good to inform guests ahead of time, in case they booked for a specific feature. The self check in didn't work, at least not when I tried to use it.

Hospitality — a shared responsibility

I'm a regular guest and truly love this place — the bright, airy spaces, the signature granola at breakfast, the calm vibe, and the perfect location: close to both the city and the airport, and just a short walk from the beautiful seaside trail for morning or evening strolls. That said, during this stay I was frequently woken up by loud door slams and unusual furniture movement from the neighboring room. The sounds were so strong they made the wall-mounted, transformer-style bed shake — especially during the night, which felt like a mini earthquake every time a door closed hard. While the staff responded kindly and professionally, the disturbances continued. It was a reminder that good hospitality is a shared experience — comfort depends not only on the service, but also on how respectfully guests treat the space and one another. (A respectful note for those managing this lovely hotel.) Perhaps adjusting the heavy door mechanisms for quieter closing, and sharing a gentle reminder about mindful noise during quiet hours, could make stays even more peaceful. Thank you again for everything you do to make this hotel feel good I always look forward to coming back.

I like how practical it was to check-in and also to access all the facilities. Very comfortable room and diverse wellness space. Delicious breakfast and easy access through public transportation. Would love to stay there again!

Dystopian nightmare

The last thing that I want to do after a long day is do my own paperwork to check in to the hotel. It’s wannabe modern and convenient but in reality it’s just cost cutting. There’s a reception but they want you to do it yourself. The room would be almost illegal to even rent in Slovenia. It’s so small and cramped, I can’t imagine spending more than one night there or god forbid to have been with somebody. You can’t even wash your face in the sink like a human being because it’s the size of a banana. You can’t close the curtains without climbing across the bed like a monkey. Not even a smart tv in 2025. No mini bar. No closet or space to put any of your stuff. But at least it has a spa? Well if you wanna pay 25€ for the spa, 10€ for bathrobe and another 10 for slippers just to realise the spa is completely full and you can’t do anything. 2 small saunas which barely reach 40C because people go in and out all the time and the heat escapes. Swim suits are mandatory which doesn’t make any sense, especially in finland of all places.

Great Nordic design - you will love it

- the hotel with the fantastic design - the rooms are tiny but very well organised. Absolutely sufficient for 1 night stay - although you may miss some space for the big suitcase - the staff is extremely friendly; my room was ready before check-in time so I could check in a little bit earlier - in the lobby there are lots of places you can sit and work - the breakfast was very nice - the hotel is located a few steps from the tram station which takes you directly to the centre of the city in 15 minutes

- the cost of the car park is pretty high - if you are not travelling alone or you want to select this hotel for a longer stay, you may lack some space in your room - there are not too many restaurants close to the hotel (there is one in the hotel of course) but the city centre is achievable by tram

Excellent breakfasts though would prefer a mug for the hot drinks instead of small cups. I liked the recycling bins in the room and the 'green' attitude of the hotel. The roof top terrace was great.

Little hanging space for clothes, no drawers to put things in, no space around the bed, duvets too thick for summer. Standard double room is really only good for one person not two if you're staying for more than one night.

The room was comfortable and we liked that we didn’t hear anything from outside of our room. The room we chose was enough for one night stay.

The breakfast buffet was a bit chaotic and it felt the food was placed a bit randomly. Also we didn’t get if we should take our plates etc ourselves somewhere or leave them on the table.

A comfy, compact room with modern amenities.

The ambiance of the hotel is lovely, and the staff is friendly. I really enjoyed the large hall in the middle of the hotel and the breakfast. Also, having a parking spot right there in the hotel was very convenient.

The bathroom was quite tiny, and I'd love to have a window with fresh air. The ventilation system worked fine thought.
