La Cabane du Pêcheur is a little gem in the heart of Ngor. The location is perfect and on the beach. Dakar city centre is reachable with a 15-minute cab ride. Food is fresh and well-prepared. The staff was friendly (particularly thank you Aicha!) and the room (deluxe) was huge with a sea view. Khalil, the hotel manager, was super helpful. Ousman, the hotel driver, can pick you up from the airport with a fee.
During the weekend, the place is busy and loud, particularly at night. This beach is where senegaleses and foreigns spent time with families and children. I was not particularly bothered because this gives the place charm.

Very nice rooftop where you can enjoy delicious oysters while watching the sunset. The restaurant of the hotel is very good overall

Guess we had high expectations with 8.6 being the rating, but felt like bit worn down, 7~7.5 is more fair rating in my view. The positive side is that the location is directly on the beach. Staff is generally friendly.
Room was okay, but door jammed, mosquito net was broken (both at window and at bed). Please be aware that the core staff is hardly speaking English (no complaint, but something to take into account if you don't speak the local language). When I needed to pay the bill, there were dinners on my room which were not mine - after asking to address this I had to wait for more than a hour to get it resolved - luckily not in a rush to check out. Public beach in front of hotel is quite polluted with plastics (other beaches around Dakar are much cleaner).
