Great apartment in Tournai

This is a lovely very well furnished, very clean, tidy and comfortable good value apartment with superb parking (lockable garage adjoining the building) overlooking the river in Tournai. We only came to Tournai because the accommodation ticked all our boxes while we searching for somewhere to stay: secure parking, views, two bedrooms with bathrooms, large living area, lovely kitchen, very reasonably priced, bars, restaurants in walking distance. The apartment is on the second floor & accessed by a traditional spiral staircase so care needs to be taken with children & those not having full mobility. Also although the two bedrooms have their own bathrooms there is only one WC to share which is located in the hall way. The hosts were very quick to respond to our few questions; we had no problems locating the apartment & accessing the keys. Tournai is a lovely town, lots of restaurants & bars all within walking distance.

Wonderful location and good value for money.

Wonderful apartment with a fantastic view over the river Scheldt towards the cathedral. Lots of barges on the river which made it even more interesting! Large two bedroom apartment with big main bathroom and smaller ensuite shower room. Massive kitchen, well equipped. Large dining / living room. Easy to walk into Tournai from the apartment. Bed comfortable.

The only thing I found a challenge was the spiral staircase to get to the apartment on the second floor. It was perfectly safe, but I prefer 'normal' stairs! There was a small carrefour supermarket about 10 minutes walk away, not very big. although we managed to get by for our 4 night stay. No large grocery shops nearby. Not a problem if you have a car, but not so easy if not.

A great apartment in a useful location.

Quiet location a few minutes walk to bakery and the city centre. Beautiful and spacious apartment. Great showers. Views of river and cathedral. Enormous garage. A useful location as a basis for day trips to Lille, Roubaix and Ghent as well as wandering around Tournai.

The stairs are quite steep and were fine for our 5 year old but might be something to be aware of for very young children. Other than that, no concerns at all with recommending this apartment very highly.

Wonderful place, Lovely facilities, and a great location by the river and a short walk into the centre of Tournai.

One one of the coffee cups broke when I poured hot water to make a coffee in it, and it took a while to work how to drain the sink in the smaller en-suite. Also the staircase is pretty "rustic" - I'm not sure if elderly guests or small children would be 100% safe climbing it..

A superbly equiped apartment in an excellent location. The entrance and staircase to the apartment is beautiful (some with a fear of heights may struggle with the staircase). This really was one of the nicest apartments I have stayed in with the added benefit of off street parking. Strongly recommended.

Beautiful decor, well equipped, great location. Owners left lots of food/cooking items for use. Great coffee machine and beans! Luxurious.

Loved this place for its location, interior design, host friendliness, comfy beds and good sleep.

Some places have it all. This is one of them. Owners very accommodating with earlier check-in and later check-out but also by supplying us with some fans as we experienced some hot days in summer.

Very enjoyable base for our stay

Good space, lovely and comfortable rooms, excellent location, plenty of Ames, and easy parking.

The stairs are substantial with a wobbly railing. The floor in the hall is loudly creaky!

Superb

everything was available: fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, towels, coffee&expresoomachine, tea, big TV with Netflix, comfortable seat, nice dining table, and sunny orientation with vue on the Schelde. Clean and fresh bathroom with towels and shampoo. But a point of attention: no fire extinguisher no smoke detectors nor evacuation plan. Nevertheless, we recommend this appartment.

Het appartement is heel aangenaam, ruim en zalig is het zicht op het water; de avondzon die binnenscheen; de leuke lectuur; de smaakvolle inrichting; de goeie matrassen; de parkeergarage;

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Familien Kurzurlaub, es war alles vorhanden, gepflegt und sehr angenehm. Es hat an nichts gemangelt, wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt.

Wenn es etwas zu bemängeln gibt, dann, dass sich so ein Altbau schlecht heizen lässt, wir waren im Winter da und es wurde zimmerweise warm. Die Treppe ist nur für Personen die gut zu Fuß sind.

Ideal für einen Kurzaufenthalt

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete großzügige Wohnung in der zweiten Etage eines alten Hauses an der Schelde. Zwei Badezimmer (das zweite sehr klein) und separates WC. Schöne Küchenzeile. Zwei Schlafzimmer zur Hofseite. Vom Wohnzimmer aus Blick auf die Schelde und die Altstadt mit der Kathedrale. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fußläufig.

Es gibt nur sehr wenig Porzellan und nicht viele Gläser. Schön wäre es zudem gewesen, wenn es einen Toaster gäbe. Die Matratzen waren okay, aber auch nicht mehr. Eine Mappe mit Instruktionen und Informationen fehlte.

Super fijn verblijf gehad! Heerlijk appartement.

Prachtig groot appartement met hele goede bedden. Locatie was ook perfect. In het centrum nabij de Grote Markt. Parkeerplek onder het appartement was ook perfect.

Een puntje van aandacht: badhanddoeken roken een beetje muffig en ik miste een prullenbak in elke kamer en een afdruiprek voor vaat.

Très bon emplacement près du centre ville, belle vue sur l'Escaut est ses péniches ainsi que la Cathédrale aux 5 clochers.

Prachtig appartement in het centrum van Doornik

Het appartement is prima gelegen: mooi uitzicht op het water en vlakbij het centrum. Restaurant, café, bezienswaardigheden zijn allemaal op wandelafstand te vinden. Het appartement is heel knap ingericht met alles wat je nodig hebt. Een gezellige living, een moderne keuken, 1 grote slaapkamer met een grote badkamer en een iets kleinere slaapkamer, ook met een kleinere badkamer erbij. Alles is heel netjes. Er is een garage waar je veilig en gemakkelijk je auto kan parkeren.

De trap naar boven is best wel pittig, voorzichtigheid is aangewezen... De vloer in de gang tussen de kamers kraakt serieus. Maar dit zijn slechts 2 minieme minpuntjes die ik kan vinden over dit appartement, dus eigenlijk verwaarloosbaar.

Leuk appartement dichtbij het centrum

Appartement is zeer goed gelegen om Doornik te verkennen. Aan het water en rustig gelegen, maar op minder dan 10 minuten stappen sta je op het marktplein. Er is een garage waar met gemak 2 wagens geparkeerd kunnen worden, dus zelfs zoeken naar een parkeerplaats is niet nodig. In het appartement is alles aanwezig wat je nodig hebt voor een kort verblijf. Het is echt een volwaardig appartement met een uitgeruste keuken, living, apart toilet, 2 ruime slaapkamers en 2 badkamers (waarvan 1 kleine ensuite doucheruimte).

Zoals in andere beoordelingen ook staat is de trap naar het appartement een beetje "raar" (maar voor ons geen enkel problemen, gewoon een beetje opletten) en kraakt de vloer vooral in de gang van het appartement heel erg luid (dat hoort bij houten vloeren). Enige vraag die wij hebben voor de host: alstublief hang overal de rookmelders terug op. Het is een oud gebouw met heel veel hout, een rookmelder kan echt een leven redden. Er hebben ooit rookmelders gehangen, maar tijdens ons verblijf waren deze verwijderd en zag je enkel nog de ophangplaatjes.

Très bel appartement, décoré avec goût et très confortable. Nous avons apprécié les pièces spacieuses et le grand garage, un vrai plus dans le centre ville. Tout est très facile d'accès à pied et la situation le long de l'Escaut est très agréable.
