Marigoula Village

Lovely traditional Greek-style property in a peaceful setting. The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and the gardens were very well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great for exploring Skopelos. 10 minute walk from the port. Our room was clean and comfortable, and overall it had a really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Dougia restaurant just round the corner was our favourite meal, authentic and tasty!

Nothing major, the Wi-Fi could have been a bit better, as it kept cutting out in the room. The breakfast was very simple, it would have been better if they added omelette or scrambled eggs as Boiled eggs were the only option to have, otherwise no real complaints.

For 662€ total for 8 nights (2 people), I'd rate this 4 out of 5 stars. That said, there were some real drawbacks that I wish I'd known about beforehand, as they gave the stay a somewhat dated feel: Breakfast: Decent but very basic and identical every day — Greek coffee, tea, bread, boiled egg, ham and cheese, watermelon, yoghurt, jam, and honey. No extra treats like fresh fruit variety or pastries such as croissants. Beds: Single beds only. If you don't mind a couple sleeping in two separate beds, this won't be an issue, but we would have loved the option of a queen-size bed. The mattresses themselves were comfortable and modern. Lighting: The bedside table lamps were too bright, and one of the wall light sockets wasn't working. Bathroom: Water was leaking under the floor tiles, so you were constantly standing in a puddle, and the showerhead wouldn't stay fixed to the wall. Hot water also took about 5 minutes to come through. On the plus side: We loved the swimming pool (plenty of space), the air conditioning, the balcony, and the overall vibe of the compound. Sofia was lovely, though we did overhear some shouting directed at the cleaning staff, which felt out of place. This may read as a lot of nitpicking, but overall it still feels fair for the price. Just something to keep in mind when booking.

We loved the pool area and being surrounded by nature. It was very quiet but just a short walk into town.

The fridge was a bit noisy at night so we turned it off.
