It's a stunning, peaceful location with simple rustic accommodation. But note that it is very rural, there is nothing in walking distance so a car is a must and it's at least 10-15min drive on twisty roads to nearest restaurant / supermarket. Beds are really comfy and the apartment was clean, also nice to have a laundrette on site. The buffet nights that they run are good fun and a great chance to taste the wines from the vineyard. The team are friendly and keen to help. We enjoyed day trips to Certaldo, Parco Fluviale Alta Val D'Esta, Greve in Chianti and Firenze from here and ate twice at Osteria del Tempo (nearest one) it was excellent.

We were there in the heatwave and the ceiling fans just weren't enough and one of ours was too noisy to have running through the night, Alexsandra kindly gave us an additional floor fan and I know they aim to fix this fan but the property is just too hot in this heat - especially with children - we were keeping shutters closed in the day and opening at night as advised but it was still baking hot - consequently we ended up cutting our stay short and moving to hotel with AC. Parts of the property don't reflect the photos shown on website / booking.com anymore (these were clearly taken some years ago) the trees are really overgrown now and could do with being cut back as they now sadly obstruct the stunning views from the apartments. Furniture outside apartment also tired and half the chairs cracked. The pool is great but yellow staining all round the top of the plastic lining again makes it look quite different to the pictures. The play park could also do with some tlc - versus the pictures there is no cover on the gazebo any more and no table football. These aren't reasons to avoid, it is still a lovely place but I found it didn't quite meet expectations set by the pictures. Breakfast was good but didn't seem to get topped up so whilst it runs until 10am twice we were there just after 9 and there was not much fruit (if any) or croissants left - get in early!

From the moment we arrived at Tenuta Moriano, we were impressed by the size of our rental unit and the overall property. The estate offers several rental units, a large swimming pool (though it was still a bit too cold to enjoy during our stay), and is set in a beautiful, peaceful location. The entrance to the property is charming and well-maintained, and the on-site wine tasting facilities add a special touch to the experience. The location is also excellent—it's easy to reach Florence, Pisa, and other popular destinations in northern Tuscany. All in all, we’re giving this part of our stay the highest rating!

However, like many places, our stay had its downsides. First, the breakfast: while the initial basket (with cheese, prosciutto, bread, and milk) was very welcome, we received the exact same items every day. A little variety would have gone a long way. Next, the maintenance of the unit. We stayed in the poolside accommodation and had several issues—most notably with hot water, which barely worked due to heavy calcium buildup in the faucets. Every faucet was loose, especially the one in the kitchen, and this became very frustrating. The shower in the master bedroom also lacked a basic shelf to hold soap or shampoo—the old plastic one was broken and never replaced. The laundry facilities were another issue. Located outside in a shared shed (a smart concept), there were only two small washing machines for the entire property, which meant they were almost always in use. Plus, with instructions only in Italian, many English-speaking guests (like us) had trouble figuring out how to operate them. Lastly, every unit came with a BBQ, which is a great feature—unless it collapses, as ours did! Thankfully, no one was hurt and the BBQ was quickly replaced with a new one, but it could have been dangerous. In short, Tenuta Moriano is a beautiful property in a great location, and we did enjoy many aspects of our stay. But for the price tourists pay, we believe the experience should come with a bit more care and attention to detail.
