This historical house is very well maintained by the lovely host who was very helpful and nice to chat with. You have access to modern amenities (wifi, new bathroom, washing machine) We slept very well and felt comfortable on our two night stay - there is a good feeling about this home. The location is best reached by rental car. There are pretty walks locally in the rice fields and forest. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and made with local ingredients. You can also buy goat milk icecream during your stay :-) Hot tea is always available, our host was very accommodating of vegetarians too. I will return one day!

Nothing negative to say really! Because this is rural and you are served breakfast and dinner, either pack lunch or head out to get some. Note that there are no stores in walking distance :-) If you go hiking (ask about trails!), wear boots and bug spray to keep critters off.

Es war ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Erlebnis. Bauhaus ist weitesgehend im ursprünglichen Zustand. Die Sanitäranlagen waren allerdings auf neues Stand. Es war sehr toll, zwei Nächte wie im historischen Japan verbringen und in der ländlichen Region abschalten zu können.

Uns hat ehrlich gesagt alles gefallen.

This was a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay. The host was very hospitable and kind, and made me feel very welcome.

We were welcomed by Satoshi-san in his beautiful house in the middle of nature, and from that moment on it was like we were in a dream. He made us a lovely udon for dinner the first night, and prepared breakfasts the two days after that were totally different from each other but both incredibly tasty. He explained what the house was used for, and what he had cooked in great detail, which was super interesting. We felt like we were transported back to a Japan of centuries ago, yet it was such a comfortable place to stay — the shower and toilets were modern, and our room was incredibly cozy. Thank you for a lovely stay! PS. Some negative reviews for this place are so far removed from reality that I simply don't understand why anyone would write them. There's no doubt in my mind that Satoshi-san would do anything in his power to make your stay perfect. Please just book this place and don't pay attention to the extremely negative reviews, or just read the host's reaction to them.
