In the future, another dishwasher, more stoves, and a music installation would be handy!

We liked the authentic feeling of the place. It is not perfect in terms of maintenance and comfort so don't expect a 5-star feeling, but it is really quite delightful in terms of the castle atmosphere, the differently themed rooms, the fire places, and so on. We did have to chop our own kindling wood and we had to borrow an axe from the caretaker (who has 2 big dogs and is a bit of a character) for this; and when you cook a big meal and want to use both stoves, the wood stove can be a challenge for those not used to it. But this certainly added to the feeling of adventure for us. The beds were comfortable, and there was sufficient warm water in the kitchen and the different bathrooms. There are many great things to do and see nearby (Sedan, Bouillon).

The garden was very muddy and only one car was allowed to drive all the way to the castle which meant we had to carry quite some luggage and supplies. Also it is hard to find the entrance in the night because the lower gate is not lighted and it is almost impossible to find if you don't know where to look.
