As a hotel operating in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, reception staff should be able to communicate in Kurdish, the region’s primary language. The absence of Kurdish-speaking receptionists can negatively affect customer service, particularly during booking and guest interactions. In addition, reception staff should be proficient in English and Arabic. Both government authorities and hotel regulatory bodies should support and enforce language training and proficiency requirements for hospitality workers.
