Riad Maison Aicha

The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and they let us keep our bags at the hotel for a few hours after check-out. The rooms and reception are very clean. The air conditioning in our room worked perfectly and we were very thankful for that. They also welcomed us with a bottle of cold water and offered tea which is a nice touch as it was really hot outside. There is signage to show where to go to find the hotel which is great as it is down a few small alleyways and not visible from the main street. There are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby as well as taxis and the location is just a few steps away from a typical meeting point for day tours. There are also many areas outside of your room to relax, including a patio.

We had a room with three single beds. The mattresses were not very comfortable and were saggy in some places. We only stayed one night but I would have had to change rooms if staying longer as I am too old to have a poor mattress. We had a private toilet and shower, but we had to go outside our room to access it. For one night, it was ok, but not my preference for a longer stay. I can't recall if the booking stated that the shower and toilet were in a separate area from the room, but it is something to keep in mind as I didn't like bumping into people going to or from the different floors when using the sink or venturing to use the toilet.

Our host, named Said, was incredibly friendly, helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. We felt like we were at home away from home. He helped provide suggestions and was very kind and responsive. We will be recommending this riad to everyone. The room was comfortable and spacious. The water was warm and we had a remote to control the air conditioning. During our Morocco stay we stayed at multiple riads and hotels, but this was by far our favourite accommodation. Breakfast was delicious and made fresh for us. Everything was wonderful.

Said (the host) is an adorable, gentle and reliable guy. He is very responsive and always happy to help. He reached out to us days before our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. He speaks good English. He was the highlight of our stay. Truly adorable. I also really liked the breakfast with eggs, msemen, mint tea, orange juice, cheese, and marmalade. I always looked forward to having breakfast in the terrace (the best part of the riad). There is AC in the triple room. Lovely cleaner, rooms are cleaned every morning, towels are washed and changed every morning. There is a fridge available in the kitchen to store water/drinks. You can book meals and transfers through Said.

The riad is located in a narrow street, near Pharmacie Marrakech. The riad needs maintenance and repair. We rented the triple room which doesn't really fit 3 people. It's suitable for 2 people maximum, and the wardrobe is quite tiny. The room itself is quite dark, with one light not working. TV also not working. The toilet is located outside of the room, and it made showering a stressful experience. The toilet and light switch are wobbly, the shower has low water pressure. Every time you take a shower everything gets wet. The stairs are narrow, so the riad is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Toiletries are not provided, so please bring your own. Breakfast is the same everyday, there is no variety. Riad is also not suitable to those sensitive to noises. You can hear people taking a shower, talking, going up and down the stairs, etc.
