Location! Location! Location! Situated at the end of Portage Point this 7 bedroom, 3.5 bath home offers panoramic views of Lake Michigan from nearly every window and vantage point. Less than a block behind you lies Portage Lake with its’ glistening waters where you can also observe a SUNRISE!
Have your meals, read, lie in the sun or take in magnificent Lake Michigan sunsets as you relax on our huge deck with large table and many deck chairs.
Just steps to the spectacular low bluff beach…NO STAIRS…perfect for sunning, swimming, beach walking, sand castle building, kayaking or enjoying a nightly bon fire.
Walk out to the pier that runs along the North Channel from Portage Lake and enjoy the boats coming and going as you take in the exquisite view from this location.
Where Portage Lake channels into Lake Michigan and adjacent to the “turn around”, this area was voted one of Michigan’s best beaches in “Traverse” magazine.
The large open floor plan of this home features a great room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the big lake. There is a stone fireplace, flat screen TV, cable, and WiFi. The dining area boasts a farm table that comfortably seats 8 – 10. Add the glass table patio table just outside the slider for an additional seating for 8.
Also on this main level is a fully equipped kitchen with electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, granite island with bar stools and every utensil you would possible need. Two bedrooms on this level each have a queen bed, closet, dresser and night stand.
The master suite on the upper level offers a queen bed, a large bath with Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The loft off the master suite provides a cozy place to read, relax or just enjoy another view of Lake Michigan.
Three additional bedrooms, each accommodating 2 people, are on the walk-out lower level. Also on this level is a full bath, living area, laundry facilities, refrigerator, and flat screen smart TV with Spectrum cable.
The seventh bedroom and half bath are secluded above the detached garage with a queen bed and 2 twin beds.
The surrounding area offers great fishing, including charters, a variety of distinctive dining locations, golf courses, casino, wineries, shopping, hiking and exploring. Located half-way between Manistee and Frankfort, there are many places to explore. See the welcome book at our home.
CANCELLATION POLICY: from Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend receive a full refund of your deposit if cancelled 120 or more in advance of arrival. This overrides VRBO's indication of no refund.
If bringing a boat you can rent a slip at the Portage Point Inn & Marina a quarter mile from the home.
We provide all bed linens and towels (1 per person). No smoking and no pets.
Maximum capacity is 16.

We loved our week at the house. The deck view is amazing. We enjoyed the beach during the day with swimming and beach fires at night. Being so close to the pier was a real plus for the guys to fish and kids to jump off of and swim! The house met all of our needs with plenty of space to spread out.

We stayed for a week with 9 adults and three small children. The house was nicely laid out to accommodate us with plenty of room in the dining room or on the porch to eat together. There are sand dunes in front of the house which the kids loved to play on and you could walk across them to get to the beach or take an easier walk on the road. Either way it was very close and convenient. The view from the living room was beautiful and you could see the lake! We took day trips to go kayaking on Pine River, visit Ludington State Park and visit Sleeping Bear Dunes. All were around an easy drive within a hour. The kitchen was very well equipped (better than anywhere else I’ve stayed) which was nice since we cooked most of our meals at the house and ate together. We would definitely stay again if we do another big family trip to the area! They also had lots of puzzles, books and games for a day inside. The property manager was super responsive and checked in before, during and after our visit.

Our group of 15, multi-generational, had a great trip. No complaints, no issues, house was big and had plenty of space for grandparents, couples, and teenagers. The home has the best beach access anywhere in Onekama. Could see Portage Lake behind us and amazing view of Lake Michigan.
