My Address in Barcelona Old Town

The apartment was exactly as promised and was easy walking to many places we wanted to visit. As well the host was fantastic and replied immediately to any questions we had. Probably one of the best hosts we have had.

The location is in a mixed area with both nice hotels and restaurants but also a fair amount of crime and sketchy areas. The apartment is on a major road and I always felt safe but some of side streets less so. Also being on a major road it was fairly noisy at night in the front bedroom.

The place itself was nice, it had a nice little kitchen, a very very cold freezer, two bathrooms and six individual beds. We liked the size and most things about the apartment. It was a nice place to stay if you are fine with having the minimums of an apartment.

Except for a cold shower everyday and a lack of a larger elevator, everything about the apartment was fine. Our biggest problem was the location which at times felt unsafe but nothing major occured. If you are to book here I would just recomend reading a bit about Raval ahead of time so it does not come as a surprise. Nothing the hosts can do about that unfortunatly.

Value for money it’s great, the location was very central and the staff were extremely helpful. We had an issue with the lock on the third night and they had a locksmith there within an hour. Great service overall

Easy to find and collect the keys. Used the lift for luggage. Easy you operate. Kitchen well stocked with utensils, pots pans and cutlery. Clean fridge, Clean apartment. Working AC unit. Clean beds.

Very Noisy. Can hear other residents throughout the stay. Did not feel safe in the property. On one of the evenings we were followed up to our door by strangers lurking in the hallway. Managed to get in quickly and close the door. You could easily kick the apartment door down. Other residents were noisy well past the quiet hours on the majority of nights. The front door to the apartment did not feel secure as even though there was a large lock there were gaps around the door and you could hear everything in the hallway. If in the hallway you can hear inside the apartment. The double beds were 2 singles put next to each other. These were of different sizes and I hurt my leg 10+ times on the bed as I walked past as the large mismatched metal frame stuck out. Bare minimum furniture. Needs cushions on the sofa for comfort. needs another bedside table in the double bed room. Bathroom Décor needs updating. One of the bedroom doors had a large amount of damage that was fist sized. Bathroom locks not suitable as can easily open the locked bathroom door. Only used the accommodation to sleep and we were out the majority of the time. Taxi driver told us to be careful as if was a very dangerous location. It did not feel safe to be out later at night in the location. Needs more towels. Main front door was secure and metal. However the front door code could very easily be guessed and did not seem to be changed regularly. A more random code would be better as the code is probably how the dangerous people got inside the property. Not recommended for families due to the unsafe location. Do not go out alone in the area.
