If you are looking for an exciting day out, enjoy the popular Whitewater Amphitheater and river tubing less than three miles, or head to the famous Schlitterbahn Waterpark where you'll find plenty of fun for all ages, just 16 miles away! Drive eight-and-a-half miles to Comal Park to play in the cool water, sunbathe, and enjoy a picnic. Cranes Mill Marina offers kayak, paddleboard, and boat rentals so you can explore the lake. And spend the day in the main hub of New Braunfels browsing local shops and trying tasty food at places like the Buttermilk Cafe and Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar.

Due to the Hill Country location of our rentals, you may encounter situations with wildlife/pests. Please be aware of your surroundings, take caution while driving at night and supervise your children at all times while outdoors. In addition, all properties do utilize pest control maintenance on a regular basis, BUT this does not guarantee pests/bugs/critters will not be visible.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.
Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors!
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Great spot on the guadalupe!The house was clean, comfortable, and offered plenty of parking. The true highlight, though, is its unbeatable location on the river. This is the last set of stairs along this stretch, and with no neighbors directly across, sitting in lawn chairs in the river feels peaceful, private, and surrounded by natural beauty. Just upstream, there’s a fun tube chute that kids can ride down again and again, landing right in front of the house. Downstream, you’ll find deeper water that’s perfect for kayaking—or you can carry your kayak upriver above the chute for even more deep-water access. We also made the quick drive to the horseshoe for a tubing trip. A shorter float (about 1.5–2 hours) ends at the bottom of the horseshoe, while the full float (4–5 hours) takes you all the way back to the house. Tip: research parking options in advance. We recommend avoiding mo market—while the sign says 15, they tack on extra fees and the staff is extremely rude, making it a frustrating experience. There is free parking along FM306, just follow parking signs. Also, the house is only a short drive to canyon lake, where you can hike trails (check out the Canyon Lake Dam trail) or rent boats and jet skis for a day on the water.

This was my family‘s fifth stay at the Trout house and it did not disappoint. We had a blast on the river, dinner on the porch while watching the deer runabout. Beds are comfortable and AC worked great!
Not too fancy, just right for a River stay.

The only thing I like about this house is the area it is located. Very close to New Braunfels and right on the river. The river access is not as easy or appealing to spend time in, just so you know. This WAS my annnual family vacation spot for three years, but not anymore. All three mattresses are uncomfortable to sleep on and the pull out sofa bed dipped so far backwards that you were laying practically upside down. We will be looking elsewhere next year.
