Comfortable and convenient stay for journey between Spain and UK but be aware of price for dogs!

Delicious dinner and excellent breakfast. Warm room.

I booked the day before we stayed, so non refundable. We have stayed before when the dogs cost I think, 15 euros each. I was astonished to be billed 60 euros for two small dogs. They were given a sponge square to sleep on, three bowls and two biscuits. All of which we had with us. I complained to the Manager who said they were going to change the price and offered free dog stay on our next visit. Would have preferred to pay half each stay! So check the price dog owners before booking.

Very nice establishment

Excellent restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast. The lay-out of the restaurant is very classy and comfortable. I want to add that the resto was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and to my delight, speaking English was not a problem! The grounds of this hotel are very pretty, and I would very much like to revisit in the summer to fully enjoy the beauty of this establishment.

The building we stayed in was an older building, it was cold and I did not have heat until in the morning. Reason: It had in-floor heating which takes a long time to get going. It would have been nice had the staff turned on the heat ahead of my arrival. After all, they know you are coming and know which room you are staying in. The bathroom had a strange lay-out, with no curtain to avoid water from splashing all over the place. In all fairness, the room had everything you would need.

Stunning grounds with beautiful lakes. The room was good for an overnight stopover but we would have wanted to upgrade to the better accommodation for a longer stay. Highly recommended.

A gem with excellent reatauirant menu

We have stayed here twice as a stopover when travelling through France. The approach and grounds are lovely with friendly staff and large pleasant rooms. Very dog friendly We rarely have a 'posh' meal out, but to complete this wonderful adventure, a return to our stopover didn't disappoint. It all tasted as good as it looked and also came with appetiser, 'amuse bouche' (Graham had mine and petit fours to finish (Graham had 5 of 6!). Now, back on the road for home and reality after I hope a light breakfast. Feeling fat but happy!

In a warm summer, the lack of Aircon in rooms makes things uncomfortable. Not a great restaurant, we ate there once, and would not return.

Comfortable but costly for an overnight stopover.

Unusual "converted stables" set in flat, extensive parkland with lakes and some roaming animals. Very clean, tidy & peaceful. Lots of car parking. Fabulous, attentive staff & excellent service.

Decor was distinctly dated. Comfortable beds but no air-conditioning, only a small fan. Hard floor could have used bedside rugs. Bathroom needed updating. Evening meal was expensive by our standards, rather fussily presented and some courses lacked flavours worthy of the price. Cheapest wine was outrageously expensive at €45 a 75cl bottle.

Very disappointing and would only consider staying there again for a single night only!

The rural location is delightful.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, but only for a single night. This time we stayed for 3 nights and were very disappointed with the catering arrangements. The fixed price Dinner Menu offered 3 choices of Starter, Main and Dessert dishes, but the menu was exactly the same every night! We were informed that the menu was unchanged for the whole week! We did complain to the staff, but they appeared unconcerned! Each evening of our stay there was a large party of external guests which were quite noisy and it seemed that the staff were more concerned with attending to them than to hotel guests.

We were greeted with a smile and received a warm welcome. L'Oree des Chênes is a beautiful hotel with well tendered grounds. We took our small dog with us and we would stay there again. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice location and interesting property, very different from the ‘chain’ hotels. Good breakfast included in the price. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay, the staff were lovely and friendly and our barman was fantastic. We enjoyed all aspects of the stay, and the breakfast was fabulous. Our dogs were made welcome and loved the big garden.

Warm welcome on reception and the staff in the bar were very friendly. Room was spacious and very clean.
