Hotel Spahr

I arrived during the June-July heatwave of Summer 2026. The MOST INTELLIEGENT and EMPATHETIC MOVE, on the part of the hotel, was to place a small, but well-functioning KLIMAANLAGE (or AIR CONDITIONER) in my room. Without the air conditioner, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night. The breakfast was a self-service buffet that offered both the traditional KALTPLATTE, or Cold Plate of cold meat slices / cheese etc, as well as hot food that was both boiled (eggs) or fried (meat). You could eat as much as you wished --- and I did. The food was excellent and the hotel staff were polite and friendly.

It is, I know, an UNREALISTIC DEMAND, but I wish that there had been a fridge in my room. The hotel is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the almost unbearable heat experienced by those who either live or spent holiday time in Germany during the last 4 weeks. The heat was unbearable. I had nowhere to keep mineral water or fizzy drinks that I had bought cool.

Wonderful place and people

The hotel is more like local/smaller but it also gives it a nice vibe. The breakfast was good, there is a good selection.

Some things look a bit dated and the wifi was really bad for our room that was at the very end of the coridor.

The photos did not match the rooms themselves.

The shower was very very small and would constantly hit the areas not practical. The bed was not comfortable The location was not great but this is my mistake rather than the hotels. There was a smell in the room.
