The apartment exceeded our expectations. First, you can’t beat this location. Everything is walking distance. It’s in the heart of the old town, close to the airport bus stop, less than a 10 min walk to Mercado, where we went for lunch every day. A 5 min walk to a decent small supermarket that stays open late. A 10 min walk to the shore, for a stroll on the boardwalk, or for a leisurely stay on the city beach. It’s also a 10 min walk to the port where you can catch a boat to Tabarca Island for an adventure in crystal clear water, for swimming or snorkeling. Second, the apartment itself offers everything one can need: a comfortable bed for two, a sofa and table in the kitchen/living room, two televisions, ample towels, a microwave, beach umbrellas, iron, hair dryer, washing machine, drying rack… For people used to air conditioners, there isn’t one, but the fan above the bed and the floor fan are surprisingly effective, and we didn’t suffer from heat in the apartment even though it was over 30 Celsius outside at all times. Last but not least, the hosts were wonderful. Upon arrival, the fridge was filled with multiple varieties of sodas and juices, and cold water in the Brita pitcher. There was a basket of pastries on the counter waiting for us, in plastic wrapping but surprisingly good. There was a good amount of paper towels and napkins and toilet paper provided - it truly felt like the hosts cared about our comfort and convenience. They were quick to respond to all communications, even late at night, and patiently offered instructions when needed. They were also flexible with check-in and check-out times. Other considerations and observations: The apartment was bigger than pictures showed, a nice surprise. It’s not “fancy”, but it’s very cozy and sweet. It is street level, so it’s convenient to enter, but also you will have people right outside the window (which has a curtain for privacy).
