La Porta Luxury Rooms

La Pota’s location in Split is literally across the street from the palace. The room we were in gave us a view of the harbor. The host, Toni, was over the top hospitable in meeting us on the street when we were unable to locate our room, helped us bring up our luggage 3 flights of stairs and had wonderful suggestions for meals. The bathroom is roomy and had a great shower. If we ever come back to Croatia, this will be where we will stay.

La Porta is a simple accommodation but it was one of the best of our entire trip in Croatia! 1- Good-sized room for a couple having a large suitcase. Great bathroom, clean in general. 2- Excellent location (crossing the street you are already at one of the gates of the old city, super close to Riva, restaurants...) 3- Although there is no breakfast on site, they provide a voucher at the Bokeria restaurant which was simply delicious!!!! One of the best places to eat in Split (if not the best)! 4- We were very well received by Toni, who was always available via WhatsApp with super quick answers to any question or request.

Just so everyone knows, and not as a negative point, the building is very old and therefore doesn't have an elevator. So, be prepared to climb 4 flights of stairs with your luggage.

We had the most amazing stay at La Porta. Toni and his wife were perfect hosts and gave us some excellent tips on navigating Split, restaurant pointers and facts about the history of the town. The rooms are really large, clean and very well stocked, but Toni always checked if we needed more of anything and even let us help ourselves to more coffees and teas. If that doesn’t make you want to stay here, the proximity to the Riva, beach and the palace being literally on the doorstep should convince you! We really can’t fault our stay, we are so grateful to you both for our wonderful holiday!
