About this cottage rental

MUMPY'S COTTAGE is a Victorian 2 bedroom cottage in a select development of Grade II listed converted farm buildings, set in 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens on the beautiful headland between Noss Mayo and the spectacular South Devon coastline. Within the grounds there is a tennis court, games room and barbecue area for communal use.
NOSS MAYO and NEWTON FERRERS are two beautiful unspoilt villages nestling on opposite hillsides of the picturesque oak-wooded River Yealm estuary, 10 miles south-east of Plymouth. there are two pubs in Noss Mayo and in Newton Ferrers there is a pub, small Co-op, post office, butchers and pharmacy.

Where was The Trouble with Maggie Cole filmed?

The drama was filmed in South Devon and Cornwall.
The tiny little village of Noss Mayo was used as one of the main locations for the fictional Thurlbury. Noss Mayo is located in South West Devon, about six miles from Plymouth, and it is close to Newton Creek – an arm of the estuary of the River Yealm. Across the water is the village of Newton Ferrers, which you can see on-screen in the TV drama.
Mumpy's cottage is walking distance from the secluded Stoke beach and in easy reach of other local sandy beaches.

THE SOUTH HAMS area is well renowned for its magical combination of miles of rugged coastline, secluded beaches, wooded estuaries and acres of lush green farmland with one of the mildest climates in England.

My son and I had a great time at this property! Very clean and comfortable with everything you’d need for a family holiday whether you eat in or go out. A short drive down to the village and access to various pubs and restaurants. We had fun kayaking from pub to pub when the tide was in, playing tennis at the property and making s’mores on the brick BBQ + visiting the many beautiful beaches that are within a 15 min drive. Highly recommended!
