Very nice room. Excellent location
When we arrived at 3.00 - having been told vua booking.com that we could check in then - we were told we had the wrong time and we should come back at 4.00/. When we got back at 4, we were told we still had to wait, and we only got our room at 4.30 (after complaining online).

We booked the room for the great price, had to stay in Carrick-on-Shannon for one night as we were working nearby. Based on the decor of the lobby (which is nice and clean, but very old fashioned - to be expected from such an old hotel and is a nice piece of history), we were expecting worn, old fashioned rooms & were very pleasantly surprised. The room was modern & very comfortable, the bathroom was clean & everything worked perfectly. There were 2 big mirrors; one over the vanity & well lit for makeup, and one full length. Even had a retractable clothes line over the bathtub which I've never seen in a hotel room before, a great idea. Staff were pleasant and it's right in the middle of town.

Food and staff were excellent
I booked a twin room , when we arrived the room wasn't ready . We were given another room which was a dubble room as I am recovering from a bad fall down a flight of stairs 5 cracked ribs selves and L1 I can't get much rest . .

Hotel really dated ! Our room hasn't been changed for like 15 + years as this is how long I have being visiting here ! Shower head had to be held in place .Really bad smell of sewage on entering room ,a small smell of damp also !! Tbh just really old and uninviting.
Saying all that I will stay again as I have for so many years now ! Just would be nice for a small face-lift!
