It was warm and cosy on a Winter’s night and the service was excellent.

Quaint 3 bedroom house in centre of town

We stayed in the 3 bedroom house next door to the Bush hotel. It was a quaint, warm and cosy house with 1 bathroom and a kitchen. .Each bedroom had 2 single beds and a TV. The location is ideal, right in the centre of the town with a large car park to the rear.

Being an old style house, the sockets were so far away from the locker that you couldn't plug in the bedside lamp.

The receptionist was a nice fella & helpful

The bedroom chair, carpet & bathroom were old & worn . The filth on the chair was just so obvious, to sit on it, you’d need a towel. There were brown dirt stains around the taps, the hinges on the bathroom door (R10) were rusty and the paint(it was it paper?) on the bathroom walls was bubbling underneath. Everything was just gross. The breakfast staff were rude and the food was cold. There was a woman walking around the restaurant in her pyjamas & feet. Honestly, the place has huge potential but I wouldn’t ever go there again. If I wasn’t there on business, I’d have left. I’m not sure what kind of place it is but it is not a place for a restful stay. There was noise on the corridors all night & then again in the early morning. A total waste of money if it had been a trip for leisure.

Everything about our stay was a plus. Firstly we did not expect the hotel to be so welcoming and the position was wonderful as we were in the heart of the town. There was no breakfast included in the rate, which was disappointing, as it wasn’t immediately apparent when I was booking it.

They were strict about the check in time, irrespective as to whether the room was ready or not. Other hotels will check you in and give you your room if it is ready

The Bush Hotel is a beautiful , historic hotel in the heart of Carrick on Shannon. The staff are very friendly. The bedroom was so comfortable and the beds were cosy. They had WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom had a nice shower and bath. Nice counter top and big mirror. We didn't eat in the hotel but the food looked yummy. I will come back to this hotel again.

The most unrestful night of our 9 day Ireland trip

Ladies at the front desk when we arrived were very kind. Staff after that all acted irritated by our existence

Rooms were dirty & dingy. Sheets smelled like they were but fresh. Carpet was tearing. Bathtub was dirty. Mold visible in windows. No a/c. Town wasn’t welcoming. Everything was closed by 6PM. Not a lot of restaurants open for a family with children.

The water was off in all carrick on Shannon and ruined the experience. (Not hotels fault) when the water came back on the water was filthy. The breakfast was awful too.
