Hotel was very clean. Very central and comfortable . There was fresh water in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It was perfect for a overnight stay.

The noise level from the pub nextdoor. Had seen on reviews it was near a pub so brought earplugs and had a lovely night's sleep.

Nothing in reality. Would have liked a little more info on parking before hand. On street parking is only allowed for an hour. Free parking is available near big HSE primary care centre with a lane to Main Street all quite close. Only a minor quibble. Also there doesn’t seem to be any numbers on the premises on Main Street although it would be hard to miss Toppers!

Great little property, easy access to the town for walking, room was very clean and comfortable.

Parking not being onsite is a little an awkward but the free car parks are very close.

To find something I didn’t like would be nitpicking but the only slightly negative thing was the “Detached ensuite room”. I have no problem with a toilet down the hall but just call it that.

Strategically located comfortable and clean hotel.

The location is strategic for a short exploration of places of interest in the town centre, the river, restaurants, cafes and the nearby public carpark. Very clean room. Also the host was welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The downside was the very loud noise from the bars until the early hours at the weekend, despite our room being on the 'quieter' side of the building. To be fair, it's mentioned in the hotel's description.

Bedroom and bathroom exceptionally clean. Really comfortable bed. Appreciate the bottled filtered water in bedroom and 24 hour accessibility to the kitchette, useful for chilling any food items, filling up water bottles and kettle. Excellent spot.

Just bring earplugs and you'll be fine, Carrick is hopping with nightlife so expect a lot of noisebleed in the rooms

A charming Carrick on Shannon experience

From the moment we were warmly greeted by the owner at the door, we knew Toppers was a special place. This charming, intimate bed-and-breakfast feels like a true home away from home in the heart of an enchanting Irish town. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need if you fancy cooking, and the cozy living room is a delightful spot to unwind. It's thoughtfully stocked with a fantastic selection of books, complimentary water, and tea, inviting you to curl up on the couch and enjoy a quiet moment. While the TV is on the smaller side, it's perfect for a relaxing evening. The room and bathroom are a bit tight, but workable. You'll find convenient plugs right by the bed (very comfy) for your devices, a handy clothing rack, and a water boiler for late-night or early-morning tea. The hot water is plentiful, though the pressure is just adequate. Step outside into the peaceful backyard garden, a lovely bonus for soaking up the sun or simply enjoying a tranquil afternoon. Toppers truly offers a serene and welcoming experience in Carrick-on-Shannon. Highly recommend for a reasonably priced, authentically Irish overnight experience.

There is no elevator to the second floor, so it is non-accessible; however, the stairs are wide, making it no problem to drag a light suitcase. There are "NO Takeaway" signs all over. Assuming this means, no leftover food allowed in rooms, but I was not sure about that.

Very enjoyable stay. Clean and a good shower.

Very central location, right in the heart of Carrick in Shannon. Used on-street parking which is €1/hr and free after 6pm. Stayed on a Saturday night and was out for drinks with friends so it was a late night (plenty of good bars in a condensed area) so location is perfect. That said if you were looking for a peaceful stay and a quiet night you might be better off staying somewhere a little further out.

It served its purpose, considering that we only needed a place to stay for one night on our way home

Our hostess was very friendly and the room was neat and clean.

I would rather prefer a room with a on suite bathroom. As we only stayed one night, the external bathroom was fine, as you don't have to share with others. I find that the rate is a bit high considering that the room does not have an on suite, no breakfast included and noisy street, also have to walk with luggage to parking on different premises. We only stayed over night, therefore not too much luggage, however if you have more luggage to carry it might be inconvenient.
