Location was good. Breakfast was good.rooms were very clean and good size. Staff were responsible and responsive.

None of the equipments in the gym were in working conditions.

The property’s location is truly outstanding, surrounded by a serene forest environment that offers a peaceful escape into nature. The swimming pool is stunning, with breathtaking views that perfectly complement the natural surroundings. The jungle view from the balcony is absolutely mesmerizing, creating a unique and relaxing experience. The food was excellent, with a great variety of delicious dishes that enhanced our overall stay.

While the property location, views, and food were excellent, there were several shortcomings that were disappointing, especially considering this was a premium booking. We had three occupants in the room, yet only one toothbrush was provided. The air conditioner in one of the rooms was not functioning properly and was leaking water inside the room, dripping onto the table. The shower unit was also not working satisfactorily. In addition, breakfast service started quite late in the morning, there was no in-house laundry service available, and the room telephone was either not working or calls were not being answered. The snack counter was also not operational during our stay. These issues significantly impacted the overall experience and did not meet the expectations associated with a premium property.

Overall location and the villas. They are very large villas and well designed with a lot of thought put into them . It was ahead of its time and I doubt people understood the original facilities that are no longer working. They have not been maintained well to do justice to the original build. The wear and tear of 8 years is very visible across the property. The staff at the front desk and particularly the Restaurant were outstanding. Went above and beyond consistently with in their limited means to take care of customers. Made the stay pleasant despite issues with the villa. The staff are the biggest asset at Birchwood Retreat.

Not well maintained. Can and should do more. Villa had worn furniture, some of it damaged and misused by customers. Bathrooms were musty, had water leaks and showers stopped working- hot water supply to shower stopped working. Had to use hot water from faucets instead of shower head. Linen - bedsheets, pillow covers, and towels looked very worn. There were no hand towels. Kitchen had roaches. Furniture as stated was old and worn out.
