We would not choose to stay here again.
This accommodation was booked by my parents for their trip. This review is compiled by my father: There was no parking available, I had to arrange with the landlord of the local pub to park there for the duration of the stay. This meant me having to drop my wife (who had recently had a hip replacement) off at the cottage and leave her there, whilst I went to park the car and walk back on my own. I had to go and collect the car then come back and pick my wife up when going out, so it was not ideal for parking. When getting settled on the first night, we decided to put the TV on. However, there was only 1 channel on it, so it may as well not be there at all. It would have been helpful to know prior to booking that there are no handrails on the stairs. The stairs are open on one side with no handrail on the other. For those with any mobility issues, as my wife was experiencing, elderly people or young children, this presents a serious health and safety risk. I had to assist my wife up and down the stairs each morning and night, she didn't feel safe, as many wouldn't . Had I known this beforehand I would not have booked to stay here. On a final note, there was no flexibility around the check in and check out times. We found this unhelpful as check in was later than a standard check in at 4pm and check out was very early at 9am. We chose to leave the night before as it would have been too much of a rush for us to be packed up, cleaned and tidied round (as we always do) and out for 9am.

Cottage good location, but damp, with cobwebs!!
Location excellent. Small town had 3 lovely pubs, serving very nice meals.
TV had only 3 channels. No BBC!! So tiny!! Damp walls throughout. Paint peeling off in bathroom everywhere and leak in toilet sink. With cobwebs in kitchen!! Cushions on sofa dirty. One kitchen cupboard stank when opened, due to spices. Needed a clean too. Garden overgrown and unkempt. Needs redecorating and a good thorough clean.Take loo rolls too, and hand towels. Parking OK, just don't park on white lines in village or you get fined. Village has a car park not far away.

There were ants in the kitchen. This property is also not in the place advertised. Booking.com shows it to be in winster but it’s actually in youlgrave

Cosy, quiet in a good location
Hard to find as down a little passageway, thought we were walking into someone’s back garden

Great cottage in a great place
really lovely place to stay and cottage very well appointed (esp the kitchen). Good to have shops and pubs in village so we could be very flexible and stay local or get further afield.
a spare loo roll would have been nice.
