The views were outstanding, the beds were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly.

We did not receive any indication of a gravel road, although I was aware of it by looking on Google maps, I was not aware that the road was that bad 😅

The uninterrupted view over the valley was stunning, with plenty of wildlife to spot on a short hike, including wildebeest, zebra, blesbok, and many birds. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, and the staff were a pleasure to deal with.

Incredible views The setting is beautiful

People need to be warned that the road to the lodge is very rough and advisable to have a high car! I had my parents with me and with elderly people the terrain to walk them to the chalets is far from the parking and hard to expect old people to walk so far with luggage! My parents chalet had no mirror for my mum to do her make up and hair! There was no holder in the shower for soap and shampoo and nowhere to hang clothes when getting undressed ! The heater rails for the towels did not work which leaves the towels damp! Our chalet had limited packing space to take clothes out for two adults and kids! The microwave and fridge is crammed under the stair case which makes it very difficult to access because the stair case is so low! We are limited to wood so lighting a fire is a short term thing and no other wood is offered to purchase! We did not see any braai facilities so if you intend to self cater it’s virtually impossible unless you eat microwave meals! The ketchup at breakfast expired in 2024 and the maple syrup expired in 2021 the aromat spice was also expired! Except for breakfast that’s the only time you heard from staff! If you are elderly and can’t partake in walking trails there is no TV to keep the old folk busy or give them something to do! The staff is very friendly but they try their best for breakfast but by the time the food comes out plated it’s cold! The chalets should be built in a way to take in from inside the breathtaking views instead of limiting them! They could give us a map or something where we can go for a walking hike! The bar is closed so if you want a drink it’s not open to the public!
