Clarens Lantern

The room was clean, the amenities are great, and you are at the entrance of the trails. The host was so friendly, and the staff were great.

The place was very nice, spacious, safe and quiet. Lastly it was convenient (close to every attraction we wanted to experience)

The big brown blanket was dirty, it had fur and hair all over and it also had something like a cat’s poo. It does not include breakfast.

I liked the cleanliness of the place. And the staff was very helpful and friendly.

I didn't like the fact that we were constantly stressed out because of poor communication of the host. The host/owner was not reachable from the weeks and days leading to our check-in date, until the last day of our stay. We only got hold of her a few hours before our check-out time. We were not sure of how the payment was supposed to be handled. The establishment never answered any of our calls. We nearly canceled the entire booking. The car gate was not functioning, it created an inconvenience. The TV was also not working, this was disappointing.

Great setting, spacious, very clean, quiet surroundings. Close to all the shops and restaurants with ample parking space and easy to find on a map. The bedding was very comfortable, and the room was very clean and smelled fresh. Private setting and situated right next to a hiking trail.

The person who met us at the gate didn't want to let us in, said we had no booking, even when I was showing her the email correspondence and confirmed booking. We were outside, in -2 degrees weather at night, asking the housekeeper to let us in, barely understanding each other because she did not speak English. We kept being told to call the host who repeatedly ignored our calls and only picked up when the housekeeper called her from her personal phone. Host was non-existent, housekeeper didn't speak English, so there was no one to speak to when we needed assistance.
