    The location was great as I grew up in the area, so it felt familiar and safe. It was within walking distance to some places and very convenient overall. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant manager, Siva, and one of the ladies working during breakfast service in the mornings. Siva went out of his way to help organise one of the bucket-list experiences of my Jaffna trip, which I truly appreciated. The food was delicious, with a nice mix of Northern, Southern, and Western dishes. I introduced my local friends to the Jaffna-style high tea, which was a lovely experience. I also enjoyed the crab curry, jumbo prawns, coconut sambal, and panne bread with my family. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos because I was too busy enjoying the meal. The hotel itself is starting to show its age and could benefit from some refurbishment. I was a little disappointed with the room rates, as the price had increased by around $30 per day when I tried to book for a second stay. At that point, I felt the pricing was becoming a bit high, especially with newer hotels nearby offering cheaper rates. The main reason I booked again was because I already knew the place, the staff, and the food were excellent.

    The location was excellent—pleasant, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast offered a nice variety, and I especially appreciated the inclusion of local cuisine. Overall, the staff were helpful and friendly. That said, there is room for improvement among some restaurant staff in terms of attentiveness and cheerfulness. Siva and the only female staff member in the restaurant stood out—they were exceptional in their hospitality, making guests feel genuinely welcome and well cared for. The food was a highlight—very tasty and well-balanced, not overly spicy or salty. I hosted two gatherings at the restaurant, both of which were memorable. One featured crabs, prawns, coconut sambal, red lentils, and roasted bread. The other was a Jaffna-style high tea, which was truly unique. All my guests were delighted, especially since it was their first experience of Jaffna-style high tea. I would come back.
