Great location, lots around to see and do, food venues, take aways if it's a night in, perfect for three people and would still be comfortable for four. Hot tub was huge. Nice walk from door step along the river. Everything you need from a self catering point of view. No grumbles at all really.
These are very minor issues, but would help improve experience. Outside seating isn't the most comfortable, and TV in living room is very small, if you are wanting a good movie or watching sports. But if you are out and about most of the time it's a small thing. But could imagine in the winter, if it's a quite cozy stay you are after it would be a slight draw back

The hot tub. Location was close to Durham and nice local walks. Very peaceful location.
The ex mining village had very little in it. But that did not matter to us as we only went for walks and the hot tub.
It was so warm in the house we had to adjust the radiator temperatures. Very toasty

Knives not very sharp (minor annoyance to be fair) and the sofa was not very comfortable. Again not a huge issue.
We would have loved to see fairy lights in the lovely yard. That would have been really special.

The property is set in a small village south of Durham. A lovely location. The cottage is well laid out and furnished. Lovely and warm, comfy beds and well equipped. There was nothing we needed that wasn't there. Hot tub is a huge plus. Great for relaxing in the evening. We didn't go out to any local restaurants or pubs, just stayed in and enjoyed the peace and quiet in the courtyard.
The outside space has over hanging trees and gets little sun at any time of day. Would be a great improvement to prune a little and give more sun light.

The bedrooms were lovely. Good size, clean and comfortable. The mirrors in both rooms were hung weirdly low so not easy to use.
The hot tub was lovely.
The owners were very friendly and chatty. They recommended their daughters restaurant which was excellent
Booking.com did not state that the only bathroom was downstairs and with no separate shower
This would have been a huge problem had the guest we were supposed to be staying with had come as they have mobility issues.
Would have used the outside seating had it been clean.
