The Million Stone Hotel - Special Category

The hotel is located in an excellent area, within walking distance of most of the major historical palaces, mosques, and even the Grand Bazaar. However, because it is situated in the historical district, taxis are not allowed to access the hotel directly between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. As a result, you may need to walk approximately 100 meters from the drop-off point to the hotel. If you are traveling with heavy luggage, this could be somewhat inconvenient.

My room was located in the basement. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the hotel does not have an elevator. As a result, it was quite difficult for my elderly father to navigate the steep stairs. We also had to carry all of our luggage up and down the stairs, although the hotel staff were kind enough to assist us with the baggage.

The hotel couldn’t have been more central to all the major tourist attractions and the hub of Istanbul, perfect spot tucked away. The room itself was so authentic, very clean, quiet and very comfortable. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. And the full Turkish breakfast in the morning was perfect, just what was needed to start the day.

Convenience to Blue Mosque

Breakfast was good. Great location by the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, grand bizarre and restaurants.

Our door key card did not work so the staff had to let us in the room with their door key card numerous times. A little weird! Our toilet kept running and not flushing. Our shower leaked water all over the floor. The announcement of religious prayers late evening and early morning is definitely loud but we do understand it is part of there culture.
