The location is brilliant and allows for quick access to top notch hiking. The outdoor onsen is magical, especially in the evening. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.
The hotel is lovely but could do with a bit of maintenance.

Shabby state of chairs in Onsen and no windows in Onsen. Food was average

Onsen baths were nice and rooms were comfortable and reasonably quiet
The buffet layout could be better to make smoother movement of large crowds. Even 6:30 am breakfast which should be least crowded time had disorderly flow.

It has a big lobby yet the room was tight especially the shower, toilet area. No hooks or bars to hang clothes when showering or changing.
