Disapointing

Location and polite staff at the reception

We booked a “deluxe” room with a “deluxe” breakfast in February, expecting at least decent (not luxurious, just decent) quality for the price we paid. First of all, the heating did not work. After we complained, the receptionist kindly provided us with an extra heater so we could attempt to heat the room ourselves. Also, there was no hot water in the morning, and only occasionally in the evening (I never quite figured out the schedule — the hot water seemed to operate on its own mysterious timetable). The furniture in the room is old and squeaky. The balcony was divided into two extremely small sections — I assume one per person, perhaps for individual contemplation. The drain pipe on one side was pulled out and relocated to the other end of the balcony, proudly displaying all of its accumulated dirt. The curtains were tied into a Gordian knot that even Alexander the Great would struggle to cut, making it impossible to cover the entire window — which is particularly delightful when the sun rises at 5 o’clock in the morning. There were no shelves or hangers in the bathroom, so naturally, you are expected to place your belongings on the toilet, which was also leaking. The “deluxe” breakfast consisted of a greasy menu handed to us (despite a buffet being advertised in the booking offer). You are invited to choose one dish from a “wide variety” of ten items: three types of soup, six variations of eggs (boiled, omelette, scrambled and one lonely muesli bowl. If soup, eggs, or muesli are not your preference — tough luck. You are also served an instant orange beverage that appears to consist of approximately 33% water, 33% sugar, and 34% orange coloring. We even had to order bread separately when our breakfast arrived. Finally, we were reassured about the hotel’s cleaning standards when we observed the cleaning lady peacefully dusting spider webs from the ceiling with a long, dirty duster while we were having breakfast (09:00) — including directly above the dishes.

Pleasant stay in Ohrid

Decent breakfast, very nice location and nice view of the garden (but not the lake). The restaurant / terrace was really nice, nice atmosphere. The staff is lovely, nice, polite.

I expected the room to be bigger from the pictures. We choose a standard room which I guess is smaller, but there wasn't much space to move and both me and my husband hit our toes on things in the room..

Ottima posizione nella bella Ocrida

L'Hotel Garden si trova all'inizio dell'ansa che, passeggiando, porta alla città vecchia. L'hotel ha un servizio molto cortese, le camere sono pulite e con le dotazioni necessarie. La posizione ottima, trovandosi di fronte al lago che dalle camere altre si vede sicuramente perché non ci sono alberi. Buono il rapporto qualità prezzo. La colazione è inclusa e quella potrebbe essere migliorata per la clientela che non mangia salato. Senz'altro un buon hotel.

Petit-déjeuner ouvre dès 07:00. Oeufs brouillés et sur le plat, diverses charcuteries, fromage, yahourt nature, 3 confitures, melon certains jours (pastèque et tomates tous les jours). Points négatifs: uniquement tranches de pain préemballé. Grille-pain dont il faut deviner le mode d'emploi: MAX ne veut pas dire tartine grillée un maximum mais vitesse maximale et donc tartine à peine grillée même après 3 passages. Pas de café classique mais (double) expresso, macchiato et cappuccino, 1 jus/limonade multi fruits. Nombreuses possibilités de rangement dans les armoires de la chambre.

Le 2ème jour, j'ai signalé à la réception que mon lit n'avait pas été fait les 2 premiers jours. Le 3ème jour, j'ai mis le carton "Please make up my room" mais ça n'a rien changé. Mon lit n'a été fait qu'une seule fois, le 6ème jour, avec renouvellement des draps. Je reconnais que pour la (les) femme(s) de ménage la tâche n'était pas facile car le lit est lourd et a un long côté contre le mur. Les prises de courant sont difficiles d'accès: l'une est au pied du lit, en bas du mur, presque derrière la garde robe et l'autre au niveau de la tête du lit à hauteur du matelas; mais quelle que soit la prise choisie, rien n'est prévu pour poser un réveil. Pour résumer, je dirais que la chambre est mal agencée. L'échantillon de shampoing vide et le rouleau de papier WC ne sont pas renouvelés systématiquement. Il faut en demander pour en obtenir. Le cendrier sur ma terrasse était plein de mégots à mon arrivée et n'a jamais été vidé. Le système pour bouchonner le lavabo était manquant. Le matin, difficile d'obtenir de l'eau chaude ou même tiède (sans doute quand demandée dans plusieurs chambres simultanément, car à d'autres moments l'eau était bouillante). La poignée à revisser d'un tiroir était à l'intérieur de celui-ci. La climatisation ne fonctionnait pas (et ce n'est pas moi qui ne sait pas m'en servir car dans la chambre de mon fils on savait l'activer) Dans le chambre de mon fils, la pompe à savon était presque vide à son arrivée et est restée vide du 3ème jour à la fin du séjour. Il faut tirer/pousser les portes des chambres violemment pour arriver à les fermer. La porte-fenêtre menant sur le balcon est également dure à manipuler.
