Peaceful seaside comfort

Hotel Dodona is a lovely place to stay. The location is ideal, just steps from the sea and close to local attractions. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help with recommendations. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, with a nice variety to start the day. The pool was a highlight of my stay, perfect for relaxing in the sun. I loved the cozy and calm atmosphere, it felt like a true escape!

Amazing family stay

Amazing stay at Hotel Dodona. The staff was very kind and welcoming and the room was comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Nice location being close to the city center and Ksamil islands. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sarande with their families.

A fantastic stay with exceptional servic, and a perfect location, making it an unforgettable experience.

The staff were very warm and welcoming. We also loved the amenities. The pool area was well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Location-wise, it's ideal since it offers peace, quiet and beautiful sunsets. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Truly one of the best stays I've had in a long time. Will definitely be returning!

Wonderful Hotel.

The view was amazing and the staff made the stay even better.The food was delicious. The pool was very big too and the kids had a place to swim also . The beach was also a great place to swim and enjoy the clear water . I would recommend this place especially for families and people who want to enjoy their holidays in Saranda.

Lackluster and worn hotel with potential

There is a large pool area with one larger pool and one for smaller kids. Lots of sun loungers around the pool. You can eat lunch and order drinks- very nice. The location has a stunning view of Saranda and is perfect for sunsets. The hotel has access to a gravel beach and a river which makes the area interesting and exciting. You can bring loungers on your own down to the beach, no umbrellas though. Our room provided a great view as well. Variety in breakfast.

The thing with this hotel is that it has such potential but at the same time they don´t seem to have a plan of what kind of hotel they want to be so most of it gets wasted. The hotel is either in bad shape or rather worn. Strange solutions with safety and the furniture seems out of place(A TV is placed where there is no socket nearby. Lack of electricity sockets in general.) No hand soap in bathroom (expected with the price per night.) At dinner only pizza (not even dessert or an ice cream is available) is served but the pizza is either delivered or just heated up so no real restaurant at night. The menus doesn´t always show the real prices. Some staff are lovely and service minded and some don´t even meet your eyes when you say hello or ask something. I think they could sort many of these things quickly if they pulled themselves together so hopefully this visit was in a bad time in the Hotels history. You should be aware that if you don´t have a car you need to be prepared to walk a bit to reach areas of restaurants and several beach areas since the rivers divide you from the other side of it. There is however a GREAT restaurant at the hotel next door which is accessible by road or beach strairs.

Exceptional Stay

Hotel Dodonaa exceeded all expectations! The location is unbeatable, right on the coast with stunning sea views and private beach access. Rooms are clean, modern, and super comfortable, with balconies perfect for sunset views. The food is delicious, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. I can’t wait to come back!

Close to the beach, nice hotel with lovely pool, great restaurant.

Amazing view, lots of sun light, can hear the ocean all day and night. Nice big room and good restaurant. Free breakfast was great. Very accommodating to our large friend group. The young waiter and chef working there were really hospitable and hard workers. The pool was awesome. Rooms and general areas were very clean.

Location was far from town, so would have to drive or taxi everywhere. Our shower did not work properly so my 6ft partner could not use the higher shower head and had to hold the hose in his hand. We asked politely for help but were told it was working fine although this was untrue. We didn't want to start a fuss so we left it alone. Later we heard that our friends who arrived later that day were offered a free upgrade to a double room which we were not offered, despite having a broken shower, which was a little disappointing to hear. We also had a power socket hanging our of our wall between the beds.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly, the hotel itself is fabulous with an incredible view, it has a pool and a private beach, and the breakfast is also fabulous. The space is clear and well-maintained.

Swimming pool is great Breakfast as well nice. Very close to the beach so that is great too. We could order special albanian dishes 1 day in advance for lunch and diner as well. very beautiful view in the restaurant. Best view of Saranda! to have diner. Beautiful if sun is going down

The view and location

Everything old and falling apart, lights that will blow with no reason. Toilet bad smell. Slippery floor at the pool and defective accessories at the pool. No umbrellas in the pool and really old sun beds. The beach quiet and nice but not maintained and on top of high rates of hotel u still have to pay for sunbeds. Strange :( The staff besides the waitresses at the bar really distant and unwelcoming. Never again

a terrible night , we booked 4 night and stayed only 1, no money back

We have book a room for 2 adult and 1 child 4 years old. The owner give a room with only one double bad, the reservation was more than clear, he asked for payment in advance for 4 nights and we have payed, staff very rude and unprofessional, they said openly that if we don't like we can live the hotel and in fact we have stayed only one night. No money back no apologies, they don't deserve clients. Please don't book DODONA hotel.

Superb

Staff were friendly and helpful. Place was convenient to get to the beach. Rooms were clean and spacious. Food was lovely at the restaurant. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel and I would definitely visit again.

The hotel is clean and the rooms are good size however location wise for local facilities unless you have a car I did nit find it great. Morning breakfast could have been better with more variety. Night time at the restaurant may need additional staff to service the guests quicker.

The pool is large and clean. The beach is easily accessible, stony but with such clear water. The room was clean with nice towels. Breakfast was ok.

There was a lack of amenities, at least in my room. The bathroom had some liquid shower gel but no other toiletries, no hooks or towel bars to hang your towels. The shower was poorly designed and caused water to run all over the floor. No glasses for water, no bedside table, no tea or coffee facilities. The oversized furniture made the room so cramped. The hotel is far from town and an expensive taxi ride to get there.

Gorgeous amenities ~ pool, right next to the beach, umbrellas and chairs available, nice restaurant & parking available. It’s also a 10 minute drive away from grocery stores etc. also the family who runs it is lovely and very kind.

The rooms could use a slight upgrade, maybe some new pillows and a larger sheet for the bed as my partner and I, did not fit under one, and it’s only a sheet with no duvet. Other than that, wonderful stay!

Not recommended!

Some of the staff were friendly

Rooms were small and outdated. Hardly had space to open suitcase. Under beds were dusty and had someone's old makeup sponge underneath. Seats in balcony were dirty and had no table. No soap in rooms, only shower gel (advertised facilities state all shower items are provided) shower doesnt have a door which meant the floor was soaked! Drinks menu is available but most of drinks advertised are not available including cocktails. As for the house white wine....toxic! Breakfast...poor. One type of bread, no croissants. No gluten free or alternative milk options or breakfast tea available. Didn't eat any thing else here. Pool was dirty, chipped tiles along edges and steps. No sun umbrellas available. Sun loungers were grubby. The slide was missing second step at the top which made it dangerous which meant a very disappointed 3 year old! Way over priced!

Amazing panoramic view, awful location and even worse food

We had a sea view room which was amazing and we were also able to watch the sunset every night. Private beach which comes with free sun loungers was also lovely.

To begin with, the location of the property is very out of the way unless you own a car. We had to walk for an hour or spend €15/20 on taxis every time we left the hotel. The breakfast was actually awful, everything was very poorly made so we barely ate. Hotel restaurant which you have to pay for is even worse, not sure why this hotel calls itself a pizzeria but that’s definitely not the case. Don’t even get me started on the WiFi which would disconnect every 10 minutes. The room itself was okay but I did hurt my leg on the bed frame surrounding it as has sharp corners with very little space to walk around it. The shower floor is also flat so the water goes everywhere when you take a shower, not ideal.

Good outdoor area but a little lack of hospitality

The hotel has a big swimming pool and a private beach so you don't have to go further than it's facilities to enjoy your day. Good parking spots.

Breakfast was kind of poor and of bad quality. Rooms weren't very clean and no toiletries except for one shampoo. Staff didn't bother much unless when asked for something. Pretty far away from city center so travelling is a must.

Amazing potential but not yet reaching it.

Loved the swimming pool really great and deep and the view was absolutely lovely. There are not many hotels in Saranda with a pool and this was really clean and a good size.

The double bed was awkward with the wood surround it (may not be similar in other rooms) and with little room to walk past it I hurt my leg on it the first day we arrived. Was a little out of town so a courtesy bus or similar would have been good or advice and assistance getting a taxi. No welcome or friendliness from the manager or any of the staff (apart from the cleaners) which is a shame as this hotel could be a real gem in the future.

The owner was very nice. Really helpful and friendly. All the staff were great. Very friendly. Great facilities with Pool, Bar, Restaurant and proximity to Beach/City Centre. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Very good

The hotel location is nice and we really enjoyed the pool and the private beach with free sun beds. The hotel staff is friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Because we arrived late in the first day and the hotel restaurant was closed, the staff took us to a restaurant nearby and when we finished they came to pick up us to return to the hotel. Overall, we had a nice stay here.

Even tough the hotel is 4 stars rated, the rooms are not. The furniture is old and we were missing some essential things: hair dryer, toilet brush, towel racks in the bathroom. Improvements should be done to the rooms in order to be more comfortable and appropriate to a 4 stars rated hotel.
