We stayed in one of the train cars, so we knew going in that the space was going to be small. Overall, though, it worked surprisingly well for two adults, a 16-year-old, and a 10-year-old, along with all of our luggage. All three of our large bags fit nicely on the shelving provided, and the beds were comfortable. The communal house and showers were also clean and well maintained. The grounds of the mill were absolutely beautiful, with historic buildings, a lovely brook, and so much charm throughout the property. The fairy hunt for the kids was such a cute touch and made exploring the grounds even more fun for our family. It was a wonderful combination of history, nature, and family-friendly activities. Overall, though, the experience was exactly what we expected when we booked a stay in a train car, and it was a fun and unique experience for our family.

The only real issue we had was the temperature at night. Since there are no windows that can be opened, the train car became very hot and stuffy while we were sleeping. I definitely would not want to stay in the train car on an 80-degree day unless there were a way to cool it down. Sleeping with the door open would essentially be the only option.
