THE DRAWING ROOM
RESTAURANT AND BAR SMELLED OF CHEESE AND SWEAT
9.0 / 10.0
The hotel staff was wonderful both at check in and checkout. Two of the rooms were close together. One was further away. It would have been nice to know that the pizza place was closed. Limited options for vegetarians. All in all though is was a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. I would absolutely recommend to others. Thank you!
Limited food options at the restaurant.

Not very clean and horribly expensive for a basic hotel room. The general style and presentation of the place was perhaps trying to seem a little quirky and tasteful, but the whole experience seemed strange, stuffy, dark, not very pleasant and vastly overpriced.

Not much
Old and tired hotel. Very shabby with the smallest room and bathroom.

Very comfortable room with everything me and my dog needed. Staff were friendly, welcoming and pets were welcome throughout the hotel. Glencoe is a simply stunning location. Two restaurants on site, both of which served good quality food.
Only thing that would have improved the stay would be a fridge in the room, particularly when travelling with pets as fresh food should be kept chilled.

Not much to like.
Where to begin.
The photos online are much nicer than it actually is. Beds are terrible and so are the pillows, I’m not sure if any other rooms had a basic bar fridge? Ours certainly didn’t. Just an ordinary ensuite.
When you get out of your room and into the smelly abyss that is the hallways, it’s an unpleasant smell that can’t be described but it is horrid. Sticks to your clothes it’s that bad.
To top it all off we dined at the “dining room” restaurant, and this undercooked lamb gave us both food poisoning.
Do not go here.
Should be 1/10th of the price.

Not a lot to like.
This place is in clear need of an overhaul and a bloody good clean. Room was tiny, beds uncomfortable and was obvious had never been vacuumed. Pillows were flat and revolting and stank like old pillows - yuck. Common areas too were in dire need if a vacuum. Dog filled bar made for a smelly and unappealing place to have a drink before dinner. Incredibly stinky hallway linking hotel to bar/restaurant. Pretty bad all round.

Comfortable rooms & helpful staff.
Seemed to be short staffed.
Restaurant was over priced and did not meet expectations.
Limited options in restaurant and no vegan choices
No drying facilities for walkers (we were soaked)
Early check in would have been handy

Location near mountain and sea. Cosy and comfy hotel lounge and rooms. Love the photos on the walls. View from breakfast room. Easy parking.

That it was central in location
- overpriced
- run down

Comfy bed
Staff
Whole hotel smelt
Pretence if being 4/5 star when barely 3 star
Food- average
Price FAR too expensive for the sham that it is
No bar open after dinner

The staff were pleasant and efficient.. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
There were numerous stairs from reception to our room, the bar, and restaurant. My wife has mobility issues and I have a heart problem. Perhaps it should be highlighted that this hotel is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

Very nice hotel with lovely staff and great food. I would recommend staying here.
Shower could do with more power although this has been an issue with the other 2 properties we have stayed at.

The location was wonderful for exploring the Highlands and the staff was so friendly and helpful.
The carpets had stains from previous guests and the hot water in the shower/tub was a little tricky to figure out at first.

Nothing
No lift. Rooms small
Bathroom small with shower over the bath.
Hotel needs to be totally refurbished

Nice room, good location
Television didn’t work and problems with the water in the bathroom. Restaurant seemed a bit grubby and overpriced
6.0 / 10.0
Good position.
Room was 'tired'. TV did not work. Number lock system to enter room and return to hotel was cumbersome and needed several attempts. Cutlery and utensils in restaurant needed proper cleaning. Only one person serving in restaurant and bar.

Clean and friendly to our dog
Room was tiny and the bathroom was basically a cupboard. Disappointing view out to a building site/residential street from the restaurant rather than loch/mountains

Great location, professional assistance before, during and after our staying, comfortable room and public areas, highly recommend.

Location is amazing. Factilities and bedroom were very comfortable and cosy, having come from a few wet days camping.
The staff were very friendly but very inexperienced. Food was good without being outstanding.

Room space and deco.
Dinner was not so good for the price that we paid.

After complaining about bed, we did not get charged for meal and drinks
Not worth money. Dated. Bed had big dip in it, slept on floor. Smell of BO in bar. Heard foul language in bar from one staff member to another.

We made the best of a bad experience. Some of the public hotel rooms were nice but they were in complete contrast with the fish & chip restaurant and the separate pizza operation which is also part of the property. The bedrooms were too hot to be comfortable.
It’s a rudderless operation that doesn’t know what it wants to be but charges 5 star prices for at best a 3 star hotel. The staff were also a very mixed range of people that didn’t fit with the operation either. On the property there is a hotel that is trying to be up market in a location that is full of hill walkers and backpackers. Also on the property is a fish & chip restaurant and a takeaway pizza operation. How does that fit with a hotel that is trying to be upmarket.

The front of room staff was laughable. Hardly willing to help. However, the bartender/wayer, David, was exceptional! Friendly, capable and fun!
The room was hilarous. The front desk guy helpfully pointed out the view from the window yhat was the tip of a mountain top visible over a badlly rotting fascia of the adjacent wing of the hotel. Unsightly to say the least.

Location
Room was not as advertised. Understaffed and as a result the staff were stressed out . the cost did not reflect the poor accommodation
8.0 / 10.0
Hotel is in a beautiful Location, every direction you are looking from. Beautiful views within walking distance from the hotel, Rooms were spacious and clean. Lovely little touch with the snacks/treats.
Staff were very friendly, dog very welcome.
Food wasn’t great, undercooked meat from the dinner menus, and then raw sausage and uncooked eggs for breakfast.

Exceptional staff, courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. And thoughtful too. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Well, I think the advertisement spins a tail that isn’t quite true. It gives the impression of being in a remote location and much nearer to the mountains than it really is.

Staff friendly, but completely overworked. Large room but underfurnished.
Appreciated the 50% refund offered and accepted at end of visit to compensate for our experience.
Insufficient staff. Long winding poorly lit corridors to diningroom, Was once possibly a nice hotel, now poorly cleaned, dust, animal hair everywhere. Breakfast first morning poorly cooked with components arriving 10 minutes apart- eggs on stale bread, then bacon. Dinner options fish and chips in dirty oil. Same staff working night and day, in bars, restaurant, reception.
Was assured room "deep cleaned" due to a pet dander allergy. All skirtingboards covered in dust and hair. Carpet thread bare. One desk chair in room, no easy chair.
Rated as 4 star which was why I agreed to pay the exorbitant amount asked. You do not always get what you pay for. 3 star at best.

The property is, in my view, very dated and had a very odd smell (vomit). It was expensive and we ate elsewhere due to the smell. We were greeted by a vape smoking unkept individual, which did not create a good first impression.

The bed was comfortable to sleep in
The evening manager with curt. I found our bathroom floor to be dirty. I couldn’t get the shower to work. The floor in the bedroom had some debris from prior guests. There was noise from other bedrooms and a clinking noise while we were sleeping.

Good location, some nice staff
Way over priced, rooms very tired looking and quite shabby, no reception area and no one there when arrived. No bar in reception area that is open . Def would not come back

Good location , convenient
Way way over priced, def not 5 star, food not good, staff friendly which helped. Rooms very dated and quite shabby. It's the most expensive we have booked and very disappointing

We did not end up staying after all. We were fortunate enough to get a refund. Sadly the hotel had quite a strong smell from the restaurant that went throughout the building. The mattresses also looked as though they were decades old with deep valleys where many people had slept prior. Room was horribly outdated and the carpet was filthy.

The staff was very helpful.. very good location
My room had a fir exit door.. a little noisy at times
7.0 / 10.0
The location was good, rooms were nice and nice touches in the rooms (e.g. snacks, tea and coffee).
Not enough staff on and therefore didn’t run as smoothly as it should have. Food in the restaurant was very average.
