Hotel Santika Premiere Malang

Most striking was the friendly and helpful personnel. Very clean property and rooms. Large room size (recommended on 1st floor with direct access to the pool). Very nice, 2-level family rooms. Efficient and quiet AC. Road noise well shielded off as all rooms are inward directed to the pool and /or courtyard (that is at least for the lower floor rooms). Good selection of breakfast items, both local and western. Spacious parking garage with wide car parking spaces.

Food could be tastier. Everything I tasted was a bit bland. Bed mattress a bit sagging and I couldn't make sense of the very large pillows, which I found uncomfortable. A few very nearby mosques for sure make you wake up at around 4am. If that might disturb you, better to not stay at this property.

Nice, spacious and clean rooms, good swimming pool and fine breakfast. The personal was very kind and helpfull (also for booking drivers and/or tours).

The shower is decent, but a little outdated. No big issue at al.

Room was big with comfortable bed, toiletries in a modern bathroom and a cute balcony. The lift was key controlled so safe and secure and the breakfast was a feast!! It had everything you wanted apart from any pork products as it is a Muslim area. We even got a breakfast box for an early start but should have requested brown instead of white bread. Staff were very friendly and polite. Great stay - thoroughly recommend it.

The 3 rooms that you see as you drive in should be lit or at least 1 room. I thought the hotel was shut as we drove in.

The room had a strange smell that reminded us of a hospital. It was also very poorly soundproofed. At around 2 a.m., we could still hear hotel staff in the corridors loudly talking and pushing luggage carts around, which was very disruptive. The food we ordered in the restaurant was disappointing. Some dishes were lukewarm to cold; only the soup was served hot. While we were still eating, the evening buffet was being dismantled and carried through the restaurant. This created an unnecessary sense of rush and disruption, especially since the buffet was located outside and we were dining inside the restaurant. On top of that, the tables were already being set up for the following morning while guests were still eating. The rooms were very sparsely furnished, and the bathroom is urgently in need of renovation. The coating on the bathtub was peeling off in several places. There was also a shower curtain that was far too long. Personally, I find shower curtains to be one of the most unhygienic features a hotel bathroom can have. This one was yellowed, and the shower head was covered in mold. Overall, the hotel feels very dated and worn. In my opinion, it is in urgent need of renovation and modernization.
