Best place to stay for relaxed holiday

We felt very welcome from the moment we stepped out of the taxi at the car park to the very last minute we boarded our transfer back to the airport. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and smiley. A special shout out to Eva who managed to get us a breakfast box to take on the trip in less than an hour! The hotel itself is very cosy and clean. It is very quiet during the night, providing exceptional sleep (mattress and pillows are also very comfortable!). There is a little gym on the site with treadmill, dumbells and multi-use rack. There is also a massage room, bar, pool table and restaurant. Live music is every other day and a shuttle to Virgin beach three times a day. Food and drinks are of the highest quality and tasty. Hot drinks are available through the day alongside a complimentary cake between 3pm and 4:30pm daily. Turning to the villa, it is spacious, with plenty of storage space, big bathroom with shower and two sinks, with toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion topped up regularly. There is also safe, fridge and kettle, with tea and coffee. Slippers and robes in the wardrobe, and beach towels. The furniture is modern and good quality, the hotel looks very boutique throughout. There is a lot of greenery and beautiful ponds with plenty of fish which are very well looked after. The hotel is secure and the area is very safe to walk around anytime.

High price on food and almost lethal for my wife

Near the water

At the moment, there is construction directly in front of the resort. The constant loud machinery noise, along with strong engine fumes, made the environment very unpleasant and far from peaceful. While we were there, a chain snapped and a large hook flew into the pool area. My wife was only metres away and could have been killed if it had hit her. The resort’s response was simply, “I’m sorry.” I understand this situation may not have been their fault, but when something this serious happens, guests should be offered some form of compensation — especially long-term, returning guests like us. After many years of staying at this resort for extended visits, we have now decided we will be finding alternative accommodation in the future.

Nothing, worst experience of our lifetime.

Do not stay here. 5AM they have heavy machinery working on beach next to your room. Its so loud you won't be able to sleep. Its legit next to your house. When asked for refund to move somewhere else, they just straight up refused. And said management has decided to continue selling rooms ignoring fact that its not livable conditions. It is absurd, whoever made this decision is next level retrd. Room is old, food is uneatable. There are much better hotels around here.

Just fantastic service and accommodation.

Everything, the staff and location were fantastic only a small resort but first class service. My mother unfortunately had a turn at breakfast and needed an ambulance, staff organised Everything and a car to follow, excellent caring people all around.🩵

Good stopover place

It was a pleasant stay for 1 night. Our room was nice and clean. Hotel has an ongoing construction project. It worked for us because our son loves excavators, but if you want to have a quiet time - not the place to consider in particular as it's not cheap. Saying that construction stops before dinner time and the views are amazing. Its a good stop for 1 night/ 2 is absolute max. The hotel territory is small and not much to do.

Peaceful holiday resort

Beautiful quiet resort with water views, good size pool and restaurant had delicious food. Staff were amazing. I loved my room being spacious and comfortable in Balinese style decor. For a peaceful quiet laid back holiday away from the crowds Nirwana is a good choice.

There is not much to do in Candidasa itself, but that was ok I enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle

Everything Perfect!

The resort is amazing! Candidasa is a new area but it allowed us to reach so many attractions. It was the perfect spot for a quiet stay, not too many tourists, lots of locals. The resort is amazing and breakfast is great! There are still areas to improve but overall the experience was excellent!

Such a beautiful small luxury hotel. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. I loved that they had organised excursions for free on different days. Our room with our own pool was so spacious and quiet and the bed was really comfortable

Felt as if you had the resort to yourself. The gardens were spectacular. Staff were amazing. A little part of unspoilt Bali. We always think not too many people know about Candidasa, its great. Love the area. Great restaurants.

Being notified of construction 1 week before, too late to choose an alternative venue, money had already been paid. Construction noise not good for some guests. Travellers need to check with resort/hotel direct regarding construction as we believe it will be ongoing for around 3 years.

Serenity!! Finding peace in stillness at Nirwana..

Such a beautiful and gorgeous setting!! We booked a Villa with a private pool for three nights, also messaged through that were on our honeymoon and they surprised us with this lovely welcoming honeymoon setup. Such a thoughtful gesture that we are thankful for. All staff right from reception, maintenance, restaurant staff, bar staff, security, room service attendants were exceptional from the second we arrived right up until we left Nirwana. Such a beautiful place which has daily maintenance and grounds keeping crew always keeping it clean and tidy. We loved our villa it is spacious, gorgeous and perfect!! The bathroom is also huge and beautiful despite the smell. They also offer daily activity two options which are snorkelling or exploring the beautiful historical village of Tenganan where you get a tour guide who will take you around the village. There is a donation required whatever is on your heart to donate to the village upon entry. We also managed to do the Luwak coffee, tea and honey tasting after the village tour which we thoroughly enjoyed. Nirwana is a lovely place to just getaway and to be at peace in stillness and the amazing staff!! The restaurant also needs a lot of improvement. Sadly, The food was below average and it was disappointing. The breakfast portion sizes are quite small but they still have the breakfast side selection table available with toast, fruits, pastries, yoghurt, cereal and coffee. The fresh fruit juices are watered right down not drinkable.

We had a problem with the constant mosquitos in our Villa and the bathroom always had such an awful sewer smell. We had to constantly use our perfumes to spray the bathroom so that we didn’t come back to a foul smell. And spent some money on buying fly spray to control the mozzies even though we still got bitten numerous times as it was a lot harder throughout the night. Can we suggest the Villas get some mosquito nets for the beds. We also found a few little red worms crawling up from between the wood and up along the walls whilst having a shower we had to put our crocs on as we were abit hesitant to get in there to shower. Highly recommend to wear shoes while in the shower.

They immediately found a perfect solution, ensuring my comfort and peace were fully restored — a testament to their outstanding service and dedication. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches that make you feel completely at ease. Every moment spent here reflected the essence of Balinese hospitality — serene, elegant, and heartfelt. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and tranquil escape in Bali. I’m already looking forward to returning.

Jackhammers in paradise

Absolutely beautiful views to the islands. Kind and friendly staff - especially the ladies at the restaurant. Beautiful gardens and well thought out layout. Our villa had a nice pool and was spacious. After 5pm when construction finishes it is just peaceful. Nice pool , chairs to watch the ocean and good food /drinks. Really relaxing.

This property has the potential to be really beautiful and luxurious destination but failed due to poor maintenance. It also did not have that clean feel you would expect for the price. Our villa was not clean when we arrived including toilets and bins. The bench tops were not clean either - I wiped them down with anti-bac wipes and they were very dirty. Window locks very rusty and safe broken which no one came back to fix.bathroom door didn’t lock properly and would open at night so I could smell the toilet from my bed - not nice. All fixable things but left in that state so leaves a negative impression on guests. Little things matter for our comfort. Some diffusers would be nice to make the rooms smell better as the straw roof can smell. Mosquitoes were a problem too in the villa. However the biggest drawback was the huge construction project next door - jackhammers from 8-5pm every day. unfortunately we were informed after all money paid and cancellation period had expired. Other guest told us the same so really we all felt lied to. We also had to listen to chainsaws cut coconut trees for 2 days so not a peaceful vacation for us. The project finishes in the next 18 months so I would avoid here until then as the noise impacts your peace. This property is also far from any amenities or gojek but hotel can organize a taxi for you or free shuttle but this is really limiting as the taxis charge you higher than grab/gojek which adds up. I get they need to make a living but we all have to work for our money too.overall disappointing . Gluten free menu also very limited but they did try which I appreciate. I would love to return once construction finishes and maintenance steps up as it is a really beautiful place .I hope that happens as candidasa is a lovely place for a peaceful vacation - not this time though.

The seaview is the only good thing

The best thing is the beautiful sea to watch at. Some employees are super friendly, others are weird. Big renovation and new policy hard needed!

The rest, very worn out, dirty, pool is awful, didn't want to swim the first days, no cusions on the pool beds, food is very basic, this is rather 2 stars. Would never return and do NOT recommend!

Amazing value, and a very nice hotel that’s I’d return too happily.

Very spacious and clean rooms overlooking beautiful gardens. A great sized pool with ocean views set up with plenty of nice lounges and even a swing chair. The restaurant is good, clean and has a good menu and the bonus free breakfast is plentiful. Staff are very friendly and attentive. A small well set up gym is available too. Stunning ocean views top off all the place has to offer. Highly recommend this hotel it’s great value.

Good potential with some tweaking

The villa was very well decorated with good layout. The huge bathroom was impressive and the private pool was warm and inviting with comfortable daybed next to pool. The gardens are lovely to walk through and there is a nice ocean view.

We found the quality of food below average. So much so we opted to eat outside hotel although we paid for meal package. I think they need new chef and understanding of freshness and quality. During our stay, the main pool was very windy and due to tile discolouration didn't feel inviting. They have lovely white wicker sun beds but with no cushions they were extremely uncomfortable. The room has lovely lighting but all one switch so you can't reduce lighting to soft ambience.

The location was lovely by the beach and staff was very welcoming and friendly. Food was great and breakfast was quite varied.

The bedding and towels were not quite clean. Toilet was a little stuck. The place needed a little attention to detail when it comes to cleaning and facilities.

Our villa was beautiful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The complimentary snorkelling trip to Blue Lagoon. The complimentary trip to Old village. Transport to town centre.

You do need to be able to walk at least 20 minutes to get to nearest village a little further to town centre.

Lovely 2 bedroom villa with our own pool. Staff were amazing, food was fabulous although the most expensive we have had since travelling through Bali. Nirwana is a great resort & although no beach out front, the pool area was great & there is a beach very close by.

Clean resort with beautiful gardens and views

Nice view can enjoying the sea, the mountains and beautiful cleans gardens. Employees friendly and helpful. Nice ! Villa with private pool is nice en enough space to enjoy. Live music in the restaurant that's nice and clean resort and villa, really plus point. Recommended for visit Taman Ujung (Nice garden with beautiful mountains and sea views) and beautiful Virgin Beach with clean white sand beach with nice swimming pool and restaurant there that you can spend the whole day there, really nice.

If they have it a little bit playground then will be beter to long stay, please serve beter white towels and not to small drink water bottle. Maintenance need it to riol because a little bit stink riol in the bathroom.

Good but not great

The staff was wonderful, from people working at the restaurant to people working at the front desk and the security. We stayed in private pool villa and the room was impeccable. We loved the design and the pool was always clean. The food at the restaurant was delicious even though the menu doesn't change for lunch and dinner.

- First of all, they make you pay through an external link that they send, and as a result, the price increased by €30 due to currency conversion. Since I have "Booking Genius," I would have received a discount, which I couldn't use because I wasn't able to pay through the Booking app. Asking to pay through an external link is a violation of Booking.com's policy. - During our stay for 5 nights we had 3 plumbing problems, at first the pipe burst which made lound sounds. Thankfully the staff took care of it the next day. The day before leaving we had sewage smell coming from the bathroom and the leaking sink. - Barbeque dinner is not worth your money as the food is very average. For 300000 IDR per person you can find much better places to eat in Candidasa town.

Heaven on earth!

The whole resort was incredible. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, relaxed and at peace. The grounds are stunning and beautifully kept, the spacious pool amazing, and the restaurant perfect for every meal. Although a little further from the main area of town, it didn’t bother us at all as we barely left the resort. When we did go in and explore the hotel was happy to book us taxis or offer us their free shuttle service. The when we booked, the hotel had a notification saying there may be noise around the hotel due to a boardwalk being built on the foreshore but when we arrived there was no evidence of this and the resort was perfectly quiet all stay. Upon exploring the main area of town (a 5 minute taxi ride away) we discovered the construction site. It’s so far away there is no chance of noise disturbances. We can only assume all resorts in the area have to post this disclaimer regardless of how far they are away from the noise. We were glad we booked in spite of the notification! Overall we just loved our stay at Nirwana. It’s the perfect getaway up the coast in a town that feels like the Bali of old. We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely gardens

The garden grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Pool is clean and a good size, with sun beds and towels. Very nice restaurant. Nice staff.

Beach not accessible even though a beachfront. Rooms were ones chic you can tell, however at this stage could use a little revamp. Some crack and chipped paint in the bathroom. Main doors don't fully close, leaving cracks on the side for mosquitos and ants coming through. At night there is a lot of noise from bats and birds, also you can hear the waves in stormy weather which can be somewhat noisy. The hotel is reachable by a long alley way, which is public with potholes and not easy to walk through if you are heading to town.
