Grovefield House Hotel By Uno -FREE PARKING

Room was large, clean and bathroom spotless and newly fitted. The breakfast was lovely, especially sat on the terrace on the sun. Grounds and space a bonus!

Trouble finding staff, the hotel hardly had any and had to call at reception twice to get some help. Nobody at the door at breakfast, waited for 20 minutes not a soul in sight then just found my own table. Hotel is old and some areas need modernising and cleaning ( lots of dead flies on stairway). Grounds have scope to be fantastic but need some money ploughed in and weeding too. There was no bar/restaurant on the Sunday night only the Indian. Wasn’t keen on the menu but did order drinks from there.

First time I've stayed here, the place is set in lovely well kept grounds and is a very nice building, little tired in some places but nothing out of the ordinary. Very big car park here, no parking issues at all. Added bonus of a lift, which in "older" buildings isn't always a feature, handy when you have a lot of bags like I did for a week away working, or if you struggle with stairs. The room was a good size and very nicely furnished, I had a garden view room which was indeed a lovely view! The bathroom was nice, with a shower within the bath arrangement, which may not suit some guests. Two good options for food, one a kind of "covered/outdoor" restaurant with a good choice menu, or an indoor restaurant, both serving the same food, which was very nice and fresh. Some nice areas to sit and relax both inside and out, I was here a full week and enjoyed my time here. All the staff I encountered were very polite and friendly, it was an enjoyable stay.

The only downside, and only a minor one, is the room I stayed in was upstairs at the end of a corridor, and had a very poor WIFI signal, which was too slow to stream Sky Go or YouTube for example, but ok for normal browsing.

The location and property is set in beautiful grounds. Room was comfortable and clean. Loved sitting on the terrace for our breakfast. Enjoyed our meal at RaRa. Staff accommodating and friendly. Felt very relaxed, comfortable lounge and great breakfast.

Although our bathroom was amazing the plumbing is in need of a bit of attention as couldn’t get a cooler shower. Not really worth reporting at the time. Was obviously a very grand property once upon a time so hope it is not allowed to deteriorate. Do hope the gardens receive a bit of attention but very pleasant all round. Our room was close to grill and bar and was a little bit noisy first night due to a party but not offensive.

It’s ok, the facilities are just ok not amazing.

Lied to by the adjacent restaurant. Told they stopped smoking the pipes at 6pm, they didn’t. It’s like being in a sheiks harem. We arrived as a group of over 14 early before our overnight stay as we had conference facilities booked. Some time later, even after registering our vehicle, we had a parking fine for being 26 minutes over the 24 hour period.
