A little disappointing!

Peaceful and quiet location

Kitchen generally not very clean. Microwave was rusty so unusable!, but owner swapped with new one promptly. The whole cottage wasn't very clean and smelt horrible - doggy/sweaty-sock stale smell? No information pack or instructions: cooker, dishwasher, waste recycling.

Perfect little get away!

The cottage was great. It has a real homely feel and the little touches were lovely. The bed was comfortable and property had everything we needed and more. The log burner and candles were the perfect backdrop for my (now) fiancés proposal!

Beautiful chocolate box cottage

Really loved the location. Really pretty chocolate box cottage but quite centrally located to facilities and the roads were proper roads and not tracks as is the case with some rural locations. Loved the stone walls and decor.

As it is an older cottage, there is not an abundance of hot water. Run myself a lovely bath and then no hot water to wash hair and so would have to get out wait a couple of hours and then have a shower. No WiFi and the downstairs could be cold unless you stay on top of the fire and asked the hosts to readjust heating hours as it was off most of the day. When the host came he attempted to adjust all radiators, even though bedroom radiator didn’t work at all. Not sure of they were aware of this and this is why portable heater was provided but wasn’t acknowledged.

Lovely cottage wonderful hosts

We loved the cottage it had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. There were a few nice touches when we arrived which made it very welcoming and homely. For those with children, there is a park just up the road which was handy as we stayed with our young son.

The only thing we would suggest as an improvement is upgrading the televisions as they are small/old. Luckily we brought a laptop to watch films on an evening.

Cosy cottage

The position of the cottage, lovely and quiet. Beautiful views across country side. Cottage well set out, comfortable and cosy. Good position for access to all areas of interest.

There was nothing that we really didn't like. A minor thing was there was no stair rail, not a major problem but might have been handy as I am waiting for a knee replacement and my balance is not great but it would not put me off booking again.

Warm and cosy

The cottage was clean and cosy, and a very quite place. Great location with plenty of place's to walk with the dog. Would recommend a walk in Nercwys Forest.

booking.com said there was internet connection but there is not. Cottage owners explained this is clearly stated on their other website

Damp and musty

excellent location.

smell of damp was terrible especially downstairs and even the kitchen cupboards smelt damp inside. Bed incredibly low to ground and slats fell out if you turned over in bed. Certainly not a romantic get away.

Wonderful hideaway to escape the day to day!

The cottage was clean, super cosy and otherwise perfect for us! We absolutely loved the log burner (even tho it was June) and now want to get one installed at home! The location was fantastic with loads of places to walk the dogs and it was very quiet - we slept so well! Lovely to have the option of a bath and the shower had good pressure etc. Parking was super easy and the hosts were very helpful - the welcome Welshcakes were a lovely touch :o)

Only 2 small-ish issues - no WiFi (wouldn't have been a problem however sadly had to work for 2 days while away - phone signal was great tho and so was able to use mobile for hotspot tethering with no problem), and no garden as such - my dogs are fussy and won't toilet on stones, little monkeys, so had to put them on a lead and walk them up the road a little.

Just a lovely stay in a lovely area, countryside stunning scenery.

It was just what we wanted, size was right. The local area had everything required to have a comfortable stay,plenty of pubs and restaurants.
