Ideally located chain hotel, easy public transport to Rennes centre and the Villaine Valley

This was our second stay at the start and end of a week tour, so this review is similar to our previous! We did, however, stay in a larger room with additional facilities this time. Perfect location from our point of view - access to a delightful bike path along the river and through a park about 100 metres away, a bus stop with frequent service to Rennes city and plenty of walkable bars, cafes and restaurants. Room was clean and typical of a large commercial chain. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent car parking and easily reached from the ring road.

Although the room was larger, the layout was somewhat strange! The narrow access to one side of the bed that was a criticism of our previous stay could have been addressed as the additional space, though appreciated, was devoted to a small table and single chair and bookcase which was not particularly useful for a couple! The room seemed to have been converted from a different layout as the lighting was very odd. The bed had one reading light on one side, the other was located several metres away. Another reading light was located almost at ceiling level above this so not very useful!

Don't have false expectations about the Superior room. This is very much a budget hotel.

It’s okay if you need sleep for one night. But don’t expect too much.

Self check in was great!

The room is located towards car wash which you can hear well enough at night and early in the morning. It’s super small. Feels like 8 square meters. To use wi-fi I had to provide lots of personal information + the hardest is to find the right code for phone number. There is no clear order and search for that. So you spend too much time trying to catch the right one with your eyes

It had nice small cozy room, and was literally next to the bus stop for easy connectivity. The staff was really helpful.

It is slightly away from city center, takes about 30 mins to reach, but has easy connectivity.

Shocking and disappointing attitude of hotel receptionist. The receptionist told us that in case we post a negative review she will press charges at the police and sue us. She mentioned also that her husband is a banker. The receptionist feared a negative review because we had a misunderstanding at check-in. However the discussion was civilized but our dissatisfaction was obvious. The room was booked online, the CC number/date/CVN (3D secure checks) were provided so we thought the due amount will be directly debited from the CC. But the receptionist asked us to pay again once arrived at check-in. Saying just that the reservation site did not transfer funds to her, but unable to explain. I had to call the site customer service to clear this up. If it still matters: - the free Internet service was difficult to access. We had to repeatedly ask for the code and at about 11 PM the service was unavailable. I will avoid the B&B hotels. I've never experienced so low/primitive behavior (threats and blackmailing) from any accommodation so far. Moreover from a person that is supposed to know how to interact with customers. I reported the receptionist behavior to.

Breakfast was very disappointing. Apparently, due to COVID, eggs & bacon couldn't be served anymore. Buffet is now a simple tray with very little choice, served by local staff. Please don't call it buffet if it is not!
